As someone who is in integration testing I can assure you, the simple scenario MS has chosen to use should not take much effort or money and certainly neither are beyond the realms of MS.

Exactly. I've had and Omnia 7 and now WP7 on my HD2, how many times have I had to reboot them? Give you a clue, its less than once a month.
How many slow downs/lag pauses have I had? NONE.
No one in there right mind would claim it has all the features of the other OS's BUT what it does, it does VERY well.
Roll on the first patch.
Are they basing these statistics on posts that appear with the green WinPho symbol?
If I post from within the O/S itself, I DON'T get this symbol. If I use the actuall app then I DO get this symbol. I hardly use the Application as the O/S does a bloody good job. So if they are counting whatever database trigger is used to generate this symbol then it will be significantly down on numbers.
This *might* explain why the figures atleast, appear low.

orrr.... maybe people have already rushed to buy the iPad and so obviously, don't want/need another pad. This might just explain why its not going to sell as many in the short term.
Dear Mr TV Manufacturer,
you have just spent the last five years telling us all how CRT's are crap and we simply MUST upgdrade to an LCD/Plasma. A TV is a BIG purchase for a family with (imo) a relativley large amount of income spent on one. You now expect us to throw that all away to get 3d? I don't think so. My LE46 will be staying in my living room for a least a couple more years,

if you don't remove your cards, how do you make it "portable"? You have to remove it!
I agree with you its far from ideal however, if you get a phone that only has an 8gig card in it (as I might do) I can then whip that card out and insert the 32 I already have ......
WHats not clear at the moment is if it stripes data over the internal and SD cards (not sure how this would work as they would be diferent sizes) or if it creates a link somehow that gives the illusion of one solid disk (we already know that which ever way it works, it creates the illusion of one solid disk anyway). If its the later you can damn sure someone will crack it and before you know it you'll be reading/writing in your PC's SD slot.
Microsofts software and hardware (think Xbox and XBMC for example) always has been highly modable and can be hacked to shreds. This will be hacked up like all the other stuff they have done and I for one look forward to what happens over at XDA Devs in the next few weeks.

yeap thats right, its about the OPERATING SYSTEM, not a specific phone. The fact the O/S does have limiited support swapping memory cards is actually an important fact wouldn't you think?
and you may be advised to use google and do some research, i have as I'm half tempted to buy the Dell Venue which has a removable SD card where reviewers HAVE swapped out the cards. All you do is do a hard reset and the phone rebuilds itself using its new card. Job done.
HAS removable media = check
SD cards (where phones allow them) ARE removable should you wish to upgrade them. You swap the memory out, hard reset the phone and hey presto ...... your 32gb card is ready to use! Now just resync and its job done :)
What i didn't see in this review, which makes me question its usefullness, how many times was it rebooted during the week? How many individual program crashes were there? Were there any "slow downs" at all? How about simple things like, can I change the ringtone to anything I like?

no it isn't, we could still have supplied the troops with the much needed Chinooks. Lewis has (in my opinion) detailed excellent alternative that would NOT have seen us axe half the new Chinooks.

I'm desperate for a HD2 replacement. I want the same size screen (this one has gorilla if other websites are to be believed) and a slide out Qwerty. This fits me perfectly!
I will however, be very disapointed if it can't record 720p which, imo, should be "standard" now.

many of us have. We them show our firmware flashed with custom roms from XDA devs to other people who have then purchased HTC's off the back of this- especialy in the early years!
I can honestly say that in my office right now there are 2 IPhone 4's and about 8 HTC's of various models, 4 of these HTC's have custom ROM's on them. Then again we are in a serious techie environment.... (all network admins/sys admin type people)
Real kick in the teeth for us at XDA Devs.
We've spent years developing HTC software from the crap HTC have pushed out. They have even gone to the extent of acknowledging XDA Devs and saying (almost) "thank you"! If it wasn't for XDA-Devs many of us wouldn't be using HTC's now.
So, if I understand this right (maybe I don't?), they are now saying
"thanks for creating all these much better ROMS from our phones, now we're big and famous, what about you f*&k off and leave us alone?"
Do I understand this right?

I consider myself a business user and I don't crave battery life. The HD2 batteries are actually really slim and easily fit in the pocket or wallet. Add to that I have a craddle at work and at home and I have never had an issue with battery life, ever.
Having said that, we don't know what the battery life of WP7 will be like but i'm guessing like all other constantly online devices, it won't be brilliant - sad fact of reality.
It seems MS really hurt you at one point didn't they (or your re-directing some bitter anger at them!).
I'm not so sure its an "unrealistic goal", it might be for you but a company with as much money as MS? And I certainly wouldn't wish anything to be a commercial failure - where something commercialy fails, so do peoples jobs! Harsh man, .... harsh. I hope your employer never commercialy fails...
As for the Move and Kinnect, this is great! PS3 & X360, all jumping off the launch pad the Wii created. Which one will succeed? Who knows! (Oh I'm sure some of you think you do!) This is going to be fun to be part of and enjoy :)

is that most people have only just (in the last 2 to 3 years) just spanked there wallets upgrading to LCD .... and we have to replace them again? Jo Consumer won't do this. I'm a techie as most of us are here and I personal won't do it! Do I want 3d? Of course! Do I want to throw away a perfectly good £1500 LCD? F*&K NO!
Now, the producers of these 3d TV's are asking non-techie, Jo Consumer to do this? Snow ball in hell chance!
They rammed LCD down our throats, let them suffer the result of that....
they are busy enjoying there game. This person was obviously bored of the game and had nothing better to do other than write and complain about a very small (but accurate) point.
I guess they should consider themselves lucky. In the US he would have probably bought the console and game, played it for 3 seconds and then sued the publisher for 10gazillion dollars, claiming emotional damage or something else just as absurd.
