Re: Evolution at work

I suppose it is possible that the Mexican hairless dog, a pre-Columbian breed from an area with long-established cacao cultivation in the order of several millennia, may have developed some theobromine tolerance. Further study is required.

Re: If you polish a koala turd...

Wombat poos are much easier to find, because they are cubic and therefore don't roll away. Plus the wombats love to leave their poos on logs and stones in obvious places the middle of the track. There is a video explaining how wombats make their poo into cube shapes in this article.

Actually both. ALMA has received light from the Boomerang Nebula, and light has also been reflected by ALMA* towards the nebula (though that light won't reach the nebula for another 5000 years).

Re: Magenta cock-alike for the win!

I did submit a magenta cock-and-balls design! For some reason* L.H. has chosen to omit it from the competition. I even made the rest of the plane sky-blue just to make the cock-and-balls stick out more. It was a truly magnificent design, I tell you.

disintermediating?

Your description ("they are starting to offer a meta-OS layer on top of other OS's") sounds like they are adding an extra middle-man, not removing one. Hence, not disintermediating, but rather intermediating.

Re: well done CSIRO

It was the NSW RFS who decided to let the fires burn towards Canberra in 2003.

And I strongly resent your slur on the beautiful city where I live. Perhaps you are jealous of our wonderful amenities, high employment rate, low crime, top quality schools, and open green spaces. Also, the strength of community spirit shown in the wake of the 2003 fires was amazing. So don't you dare call my home crap.

p.s. yes, well done CSIRO for this new work.

There is no need to store the information for as long as a million years. We only need to store it until a time-travel receiver has been built: from that point on, people can just go back/forwards to find out what the information was/will be.

Well, *almost* all. We use nuclear energy and geothermal energy which both come from our own planet, not from the sun. And there's a bit of energy coming from the moon (it drives our tides). But yes, your basic point still stands because the sun does provide the vast majority of our energy.
