Wombat poos are much easier to find, because they are cubic and therefore don't roll away. Plus the wombats love to leave their poos on logs and stones in obvious places the middle of the track. There is a video explaining how wombats make their poo into cube shapes in this article.
My vote goes to the design by James Windmill. It is the closest to this classic which I have always loved.
I did submit a magenta cock-and-balls design! For some reason* L.H. has chosen to omit it from the competition. I even made the rest of the plane sky-blue just to make the cock-and-balls stick out more. It was a truly magnificent design, I tell you.
*maybe he felt it was a bit too in-your-face and hard-to-swallow.
carsales.com.au have had their own version of "Total Car Check" for years, they call it CarFacts. The very useful REVS Check has been going even longer, I think a couple of decades? I'm amazed it has taken so long for the UK to catch up with such an obvious idea.

There is no need to store the information for as long as a million years. We only need to store it until a time-travel receiver has been built: from that point on, people can just go back/forwards to find out what the information was/will be.

You do realise that *all* our daily energy comes from the Sun don't you?
Well, *almost* all. We use nuclear energy and geothermal energy which both come from our own planet, not from the sun. And there's a bit of energy coming from the moon (it drives our tides). But yes, your basic point still stands because the sun does provide the vast majority of our energy.
