How are sharia courts any different to any other non-legal forms of dispute mediation (i.e. ACAS) that we are encouraged to use before resorting to clogging up the courts?
for " exploring ways of making data and methods more openly available" - information that should be in the public domain anyway for peer review and transparency, and is unlikely to be any less accessible or the culture to be any less secretive after some pointless guilt money has been thrown at it.
The money would be better spent on the hackers.
If I am not mistaken the mobile phone "hacking" in question is merely the accessing of mobile phone voice mail messages by the guessing of the PIN or USING THE DEFAULT PIN which is the equivalent to say a paranoid partner listening to your voicemails (wrong I know - but hacking?). The real crime is the ignorance of people who really should know better leaving sensitive information on COMPLETELY INSECURE systems which they then do not protect at all by even changing the PIN. Talk about laeving the door wide open.
What a missed opportunity to educate people about basic information security instead of scaring them witless.
Nothing is secret or uncopyable anymore anyway.
But I I already use google or yell or scoot or 192... and what is to stop cybersquatters registering the common missspellings as now, and I'm sure that most net users have been shocked out of hopefully typeing in company names or acronyms into the address bar on the off chance that the correct site will appear (Symbian 'phone user).
Just another big scam.
RE: Total number of subject profiles v Estimated total number of individuals
I am concerned that if they have to estimate the number of individuals their samples are taken from the process of matching one individual to the database is not as precise as is made out.
The estimate could be due to uncertainty in the number of identicat twins or other clones in the system!
As grid electricity is mostly generated from burning stuff, and allowing for transmission losses through the grid, inneficiancies in the car, including lugging around an extra 1/3 of a tonne I wonder how many miles per gallon equivalent of gas or coal burned at the powerstation this mini is?
