Round and round we go...
...when will we get a proper decision, nobody knows!
Don't we do this dance with the EU every 6-9 months? Every time the UK Gov sticks two fingers up at the EU law maker, does what it wants anyway!

Some of us have lives in the the real world! You know, the real world, the bit outside the kitchen window you see briefly when raiding your Mum's fridge, before sneaking off back down to the basement?
It may surprise you to learn that some IT techs just want to switch off when they leave work, most do not want to spend all night fitting a new MB or some other WankerTech X23YX hardware to their machines. A lot of us are on-call so we know we'll get to play fix the server at some point before the sun rises!
I spend all day faffing about with PCs and servers. I want to go home, play with the kids, sit down have a meal with the family, then relax by switching on my machine and messing about with some music or doing my photography. I want the PC to just work.
Now back down to your Mum's basement or under your bridge, before the Sun comes up, eh?
I don't often agree with Matt Bryant, but this time he has a point.
When you join the military, in any country, you are agree to certain things usually giving up some rights and gaining others. In this case, he took classified info and passed it to a mouthpiece that broadcast it to the world, the owners of the info are not going to be very pleased about it.
Manning is in the military, please bear in mind that Manning most likely knew the penalties of his actions if he were caught. He knew exactly what military, solitary confinement procedures are like, they would most likely have had classes detailing what happens if you break the military's rules. He then made a conscious decision when he decided to download that info and pass it on.
I don't give a monkey's one way or the other, simply drawing people's attention to the obvious facts before we all get carried away.
If you want to discuss torture, take a look at Amnesty international books. Women subject to institutional sexual abuse for no reason other than being female in male centric societies. Members of groups of people, subject to physical abuse for simply believing in a different way of life or looking slightly different. Trade unionists in South America beaten and murdered for simply trying to ensure workers get a fair wage for hard days work. Children as young 8+ forced to fight in wars, the boys as cannon-fodder guerilla fighters, the girls as "comfort women" for the "troops".
Knowing the rules, breaking the rules and finally having to be held in a secure environment to ensure you are safe from self-harm or harm from others, is not torture. It's common sense.
I know all the sheeple who have been brainwashed by Assange and his cronies will vote me down, so go ahead. If you got this far in my diatribe, I know you at least read it!
If the Japanese are going to get all twitchy then perhaps we can remind them of their war crimes? The crimes for which it took so long to get reparations and apologies for, not just for the Europeans who were subjected to brutality, but the local populations on the east of mainland Asia who are still fighting to get apologies and compensation.
Tell you what, perhaps we all take the things said in the vein they were actually said in? We all grow up and perhaps, just perhaps, the world would be a better place.
Do you think they do all this from the goodness of their hearts?
Wake up! They are pushing "free" products for self promotion to raise awareness of the search engine. This brings people back to the ad-streams and collection of your personal likes and dislikes. They sell your interests, I'll grant you anonymized, on to the highest bidder and make even more money. YOU are the product my friend, not the nice shiny so called 'free' toys they give out.
Google are not your friends, use them as you wish but they should still be treated with caution!
So she's up for other felonies, this is a different case which is tried by different court and court officials.
When the jury on the 'tripping case' find out she's on credit card fraud charges too, they may not be very sympathetic I'll grant you, but everyone is entitled to fair trial for each crime they are involved in, whichever side of the dock they are on.
I love the planks who emerge from the Undergound stations in London, and as soon as there is a mobile signal, just stop dead in their tracks and start texting and checking mails!!!
"STEP ASIDE AND DO THAT SOMEWHERE ELSE YOU F**KING INCONSIDERATE PRATS! THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU, DESPITE WHAT FACEBOOK AND TWITTER HAVE LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE!"
Yes she is a right div for not looking where she is going, but her complaint is about the misuse of CCTV footage.
If this had been someone else's mobile footage, I'd say 'Tough titty madam!', but the security personal abused their position of trust to send out a bit of private security footage for a laugh.
Imagine you got mugged in the same place, I bet you'd have to fight for weeks to get the footage for your court case against the person who did it. Some dopey woman falls in a fountain, by accident and next thing the footage is all over the world.
US Gov needs a good excuse to nail P2P as the "meeja" moguls, who are all in with the Gov top-bods, want it dead. So lets say P2P trades not only in copyright material but Uncle Sam's top secret stuff too!
My God!!!! If you use P2P you are not only a thieving scumbag ripping off hard working millionaire musicians and actors, but your are a traitorous, thieving scumbag too and very un-American!!!
Google says they are not up to anything and people believe them? How stupid are some people?!
Large corp promotes it's own stuff and denies doing so! Well that's a shocker!
If you're stupid enough to believe anything Google/Facebook/Twitter ( well any website actually! ) says at face value, you need your bumps checking!
Is this another one of those "Let's get outraged to get our mugs in the red-tops." stories? The thing has cheap and nasty sub-standard components and a ton of fake fur on it, the words are going to come out funny!
These always remind me of the old playground gag when I was 10 years old. Get someone to silently mouth "F**K YOU" and then tell the other person they are "gay" because they said "I LOVE YOU"!
As IT techs we are put in positions of privilege. We are trusted to ensure we look after the data that drives huge corps and they expect us to have integrity and ensure we don't get do something fucking stupid like this?!
I do blame him and I hope the greedy c**t gets all he deserves. Banged up the slammer, to quote a phrase by Rik Mayall and Ade Edmonson!
"New Hampshire-based Seacoast Radiology warned patients on Tuesday that the hacked server stored their names, social security numbers, medical diagnosis codes, address, and other details."
Yeah they're bloody stupid to have "nicked" someone else work server for hosting a game, but FFS, storing sensitive private info on a public facing server?
Scumbag breaks into accounts of people so fucking stupid they'd stick pictures on themselves, naked, into the public domain.
What is wrong with these people? The second you decide to send anything up that wire out of your house you can basically assume you sacrifice control of it, especially to well known sites like FaceSlap that have had previous security issues!
So next time some scumbag breaks into my GMail account I can have him carted off to clinky then? Sorry? Oh you have to be someone famous or a high-up government official, gotcha!
The Soviet era ideals of those in charge getting all the perks, are alive and well in the US as ever they were!
Let's face border patrol IT training would simply be:
1. Start Windows laptop
2. Plug in SUB key
3. Click on USB drive letter when it appears
4. CTRL +A or "circle" all files
5. Right-click COPY
6. Click drive C:
7. Right click PASTE
8. Read copied files for evidence of anti-US sentiments!
When this doens't work, detain crimi...sorry, suspect until they tell you why Windows won't copy the files!
"Faceslap" may be a pile of wotnot and I'd rather not have to put up with Zuckerberg in the news every 5 mins, but you have to hand it to these guys. There's never been a better time to tap that "one born every minute" market, especially when you're pulling down the green to that extent!
I always thought "Crazy" Larry and Lord Jobs were very much best friends, especially as they both have a slight dislike of Mr. Gates.
Moving back on subject...
Why has everything got to be about the cloud/network? Yes some things work absolutely wonderfully when connected but some things don't. I do not want to be up on the Cumbrian coast, shooting photos and have to drive 20 miles to the nearest mast with a half decent to get my laptop to boot. Alright, stupid example but you get the point.
I'd like to stand up and say you do not speak for a large majority of sensible Mac users.
As a devoted Mac user I think Windows and Linux are damn good operating systems. They have their place, people get a great deal of use out of them and they get their stuff done. Now why have you got to crap all over them?
Like the Mac has no problems! Bollocks! It has plenty of dopey problems that sometimes get on my nerves, but I still prefer it. I only have a Mac as I spend all day administrating Linux and Solaris Oracle DB servers, I know IT pain so I want to go home, switch-off and just enjoy using a home computer.
After a hard day fighting with SunOracle I want the Fisher-Price experience that OSX gives me, it's a sort of sad IT regression/fetish thing I suppose!
This kid disobeyed the rules of the airline, therefore he should be prosecuted first! Then take the old boy to court next for losing his temper and decking someone, even if the kid was a first-class arsehole.
The old-boy who hit him should have had a little more self control, you can't go around lumping everyone who gets on your tits, the hospitals near me would be full if that were the case. However, simply ignoring the fact this kid decided to be an arsehole is wrong. If I decide to do the same thing and ignore the airlines rules, it will only get sorted when someone else attempts to deck me?
Prison is unlikely for simple "crime" like this, most likely 200 hours of digging weeds in school yards and old folks homes!
