Why would you want to charge a poor person for a light, are we that greedy?
The Hexamon and Nexus are not happy. Jart attack is imminent.
Make some blimps and other airships!
Make some blimps and other airships out of the stuff! Then offer free graphene condoms for the first rides purchased !
Silly repuglican in Amerika!
Snowden did what he did, because he loves 'americans'. Not because he hates Amerika.
He's not going to dump his most valuable commodity to the ruskies, that's just plain BS by repug morons.
Love live all whistle blowers like Snowden and ANON.
I'm laughing, really
There is only one way to safely transmit your info across the net. It has to be encrypted prior to transmission.
There is no other way around it.
You can encrypt all the links you want, you can encrypt whatever, it doesn't matter unless what leaves your computer is encrypted first.
Chrome Uninstalled today.
Chrome Uninstalled today. I have zero fucking patience with companies that think they can control me.
I actually donate to my FLOSS developers.
I actually donate to my FLOSS developers and wish everyone would. I use Freemake, GIMP, LibreOffice etc. I donate when I find it has saved my bacon.
I do not donate to OpenOffice/LibreOffice as they've not fixed a terrible problem with their spell checker on upgrades.
The lack of donations to FLOSS devs does show the general low level humanity is at. We praise helping out the general public with social programs (health, transportation, etc), but look at the results. NO ONE DONATES. How can we function as a civilized society if we don't support the things that HELP everyone.
I just donated $50 to the philippines for the typhoon fund. How many of you have?
I'll make it simple. No DRM. What's so hard to understand about that. I'm not asking 'for' anything, I'm just asking for 'less'. Got a DRM infested product, KEEP IT, I don't want it. WHAT IS SO HARD to understand. I feel like i"m talking to a 5 year old. Hollywood, apple, RIAA, etc, just can't figure it out.
Just say no to DRM. NO NO NO.
Re: The problem is
I'm so confused, You want me to make a fist around my balls. oh gawd that hurts...
Hmm, Paris, what is this fisting you're speaking of ?
I really laughed my ass off on that one. I don't know why, but it was just funny.
Pigs really do fly.
In a perfect world, I really wouldn't mind the NSA to have ALL the data and use it when tasked to catch the bad guys.
But this is not a perfect world and I live in the country of the United Corporations of Amerika where I am now NOT safe from my own government.
Snowden is a hero.

QUIET, no one is listening!
Oh the expections of the 'customer'
"Indeed, 'a person has no legitimate expectation of privacy in information he voluntarily turns over to third parties.'"
To think, I send a mail to a 'recipient' and expect it to get to the person, without the post office scanning the sender address, and scanning the contents of my letter. I do have a LEGITIMATE EXPECTATION of privacy. This is not pirates on the sea, or the pony express.
What is so wrong with MY expectation of privacy. Nothing I say! What is wrong is the 'corporate' view that THEY assume have the right to inspect that letter, envelope and all. Everything is wrong with that thought process.
Wrong wrong wrong!
Mail is a service, free or not, but does not give the 'service provider' the right to inspect the contents. Why even do we have to go to court over something so simple. GOOGLE, do not do evil.
The Shadow Knows
Lost your lappy or moby, ask the NSA, they know where it is. Really, no shit, they know.
Power Level over 9,000
Snowden is a hero to the free world. A sinister traitor in Amerika, but a HERO in the free world!
Thank goodness for heroes, this world really needs them.
Re: Operation Extinguish
I could not agree more. Ubuntu has become a waste of time with a crap installer killing the user experience right off the bat. If you want someone to use your product, it has to install correctly and detect your keyboard correctly. WTF, really, I can't continue my Ubuntu install because it doesn't understand my keyboard? WTF?
Re: Another possibility
That's a level 19 skill to spout bullshit out of any orifice on command. It takes years of training for 007's.
"Quiet, no one is listening."
I never understood the reality of that Russian quote until I found out my own government was doing it to me.
Where's the 'app'
Email should have always had encryption since the beginning of time. Where the hell is that button in the application that says, ENCRYPT PRIOR TO TRANSMISSION ! This should have always been there, and it is not. WHY? Ask yourself that. That is the true question here.
I'm cracking up, again
Instead of paying people to 'maintain' the system, online companies and government, would rather pay more, much more, for insurance. And where does that money come from, why, the consumer and citizen, of course. The irresponsibility of corporations and government is astounding.
Oh Padawon, your training as a Level 4 consumer is complete. You are now fully comfortable to throw away your money on worthless crapola. You display the full awareness of the 'nothing' that a consumer wanders in daily. The willingness to spend spend spend, shows your leveling up to Level 4 is totally warranted. Yes, don't save for college, don't donate any time to volunteer services, don't contribute to society. These are the true attributes the 'corporation' is looking for. Soon, you will start constructing your gold credit card for purchasing worthless crap all over the galaxy.
Here's something you may not know.
Obama now is not only hated by the Repuglican Party, he is now also hated by the Demorats party.
It takes real political skill to accomplish that feat. From re-enacting the Patriot Act, condoning spying on US citizens by the NSA, and not legalizing marijuana. This fucktard of a president has succeeded in failing, almost as bad as Bush v2.0 . American voters quite frankly are the idiots of the planet and continue to vote in these corporate owned and sponsored puppets. Will they learn? No. I have no faith in my fellow man here in Amerika. No balls, no brains, no skill. FAILURES. To think I spent 20 years in the military protecting the Constitution of the U.S.A and now it's a worthless pile of shit.
Quiet, no one is listening!
Quiet, no one is listening!
For the blackberry to be approved by military systems, NSA etc, needed access to confirm the system worked. Remember, the Blackberry had servers outside the U.S.A. There was no way the Blackberry was going to be approved without that inside access.
Re: how long....
That's funny, because the NSA has had the inside crypto scoop on windows for years. Your phone is no different. Stay away from heavy machinery and don't drive on any roads that I use, please.
Re: Is Tor really secure?
You forgot the bear trap, just in case they try to hold your jaw open. You can set it to spring close on your head when the lappy drops into the sea water.
I had to re-read the front page of this story
I had to re-read the front page of this story, and check the date. I though maybe something from 2001 cropped up into the mix. This is a leading tech company and they are just now moving from XP to Win7?
SELL IBM NOW! SELL SELL SELL.
I don't want to alarm anyone!
I don't want to alarm anyone, but there are starving kids on this planet and these redmond assholes are spending a billion on advertising. Here's a clue. If your product is good and worthy, it will sell itself.
A brown kid in Africa approves this message.
IDIOTS run Texas. Pure and simple.
Did I say that District Attorneys are morons. Yes, they are. They'd put their mothers in jail if it would get them elected again. DA's are the lowest scum of the pond slim of the legal so-called profession. And the idiots that run TEXAS are the worst.
To actually trust VPN drivers inside MS?
To actually trust VPN drivers inside MS?
They must think we be insane, considering NSA has the key to the internals.
Trust no one!
So, I think not.
OH, there's a black sedan pulling up my driveway...
PG Tips for the win
I like it. Sometimes I go crazy and put two bags into one big cup of joy.
I do use sugar.
I do use a spot of milk.
And I'm lazy, so I rarely take the bag out of the cup.
I guess you can tell from the above, I'm American.
My grandmother used to make me the perfect tea and buttered toast when I was 10. Loved it.
We in the USA are doomed
Why? Because until our companies learn to rape the chinese like they rape the U.S. consumer, we'll never see a change.
When are we going to get Encrypted Mail ?
I'm tired of my email being stored in Utah where the NSA can/will/does look at it anytime they want. Everything we send over the Internet in the USA is being stored there for analysis at a later date.
Having 'encrypted for transmission' built into email programs sure would help me feel safer. Now, no doubt they can un-encrypt it with some little effort, but at least they would have to try. At the present time, they just read 'whatever' they want, at anytime. I have worked with the Feds and I am not feeling safe at all, concerning my freedom of speech in the USA and the governments LACK of respect for privacy.
I don't know what the guy on the street in London feels, but over here, things are not going well.
Trade in, give it away, just get rid of it
I gave away my PS3 to some poor people in the Philippines along with my games. FUCK SONY. I won't be using ANY of their products.
Manning is a hero
I don't know why some of you think Manning was a traitor. What he exposed was blatant human rights violations by the U.S. government. All humans are responsible for bringing those to justice for such crimes. That supersedes any military obligations that Manning had.
Does that sound like wishful thinking? Only if you want to continue to live in world where the Bushes, Cheneys and other morons get away with such trash.
I'm American, but one of the smart ones
1. I found it amazing that Europe uses anything other than metric.
2. Miles, feet. It's stupid, inaccurate and based on nothing scientific.
3. Next, stupid americans will be saying it's un-christian to go metric, and the dreaded, It's un-american to go metric. Here in America, we have a bunch of citizen sheep, that shop at walmart, watch fox news, and are stupider than bag of rocks. I'm ashamed sometimes. But we do need a dumb slave work force, and a happy one. A smart slave work force doesn't stay happy and always asks for more money. Can't have that.
Anyways, back to metric. Metric is based on science. That's something the ignorant religious wing-nuts here in America just can't stand. Telling them that the world is over 4,000 years old and that the metric system is based on real science, will, quite frankly, make their heads explode.
4. Go metric. I hate having to have two tool sets for everything. It's cost a bunch of money.
SELL SELL SELL
SELL SELL SELL
Then buy after the quarterly report...
" ...watching a video showing some moron yelling derogatory insults at cattle in pastures."
So, YOU DID SEE THE MOVIE. I was waiting for a review. Thanks.
The movie itself is terrible and no doubt in bad taste. I encourage everyone to see it. You can put it on your 10 worst list movies of all time.
It's the 21st Century, the year 2012, and the company just FAXED their customers...
You've got to be shitting me, faxes .
It depends on who you work for
I was lucky enough to work for an 'enlightened' management team. They actually helped me put my network together. In return, all that they wanted to know was how it all worked together and what back up systems were in place. They trusted me, I trusted them. And thank goodness for Cisco Engineers and Sales that were always ready to help too.
Why would anyone download any french TV anyways? I fart in your general dfirection!
Security by the lowest bidder
Just because we got an astronaut into space with the lowest bidding contractors, doesn't mean you can do it with systems security. THIS WILL BLOW UP IN THEIR FACES. Please save this one for future references, hacks by Anonymous are sure to come. This DC3 is not about crime, it's about controlling and shutting off the Internet in the US when the shit hits the fan. Which will be any day now.
Re: I have no issue with this law
You are clueless if you have no issue's with this law. You are probably a religious wingnut that also thinks the world is flat and only 4000 years old. Admit it.
Why didn't Nokia...
Why didn't Nokia get in bed with Google, that's a devil I can live with. MS is a blood sucking vampire that kills every partner it comes in contact with. Nokia really made 3 mistakes. Killing off Symbian, getting in cahoots with MS, and not making love with Google.
Spreading democracy, one domain at a time.
We went from a great country, to a bag full of idiotic religious right wing fruitcakes in 8 years. Thanks Bush v2.0 . Guys and Gals overseas, I say to you. This is our government, not the people. The vast majority of us love freedom. However, a bunch of born again christian fundamentalists have infiltrated our government and are using the 'high ground' as a way to 'enforce' their stupid crapola on everyone else. The 'man on the street' here in America is bewildered by shit like this. When there are terrorists on the streets in Afghanistan and Syria, this is what is important to do right now, close a domain! When there are 10's of thousands of people inside our jails for smoking a joint, this is what is important, close a domain. When fuel prices are rocketing through the roof, this is what is important, close a domain.
FUCK America's government, it is SO BROKEN.
You referenced a document/study from Citigroup?
You referenced a document/study from Citigroup? And you expect people to believe it?
You're out of your mind. Big Corp doesn't give a rats ass about the planet. Oil is running out, and our use is outstripping production. How do we know? PRICES are going up. I don't need citigroup to try and tell me different. It's a ploy to get investments into the horrible environmental fracturing business. Big business will starve us to the last customer.
And for our next trick!
And for our next trick! No doubt you will soon have region codes like DVD/Blurays on your PCs. WHATEVER it takes for Hollywood/MS to screw a customer up.
For Paris: I've had plenty of installs, maybe you've seen them on the interwebz?
About half the disks in my home are warranty replacements....
About half the disks in my home are warranty replacements and that shows how bad the tech is. I own seagates, WDs and Hitachi's. Luckily most gave warning prior to demise, however one took a huge portion of my backups with it, when it happened to be my only backup. Seagate used to be the best but since then, they bought maxtor and I think incorporated some of that shit technology/engineers into its own drives. Sad to see them go down the road of "screw the customer as much as possible while living on good old brand name". Companies wonder why we have no brand loyalty? My ass hurts from brand loyalty tendencies. Getting screwed by various 'companies' over the years has made my purchasing habits draconian. Give me the biggest bang for the buck, the longest warranty, to TCO. Me a consumer, having to worry about TCO, ain't that a bitch and total bullshit that we can't get what we pay for unless we microscopically look at every facet of a purchase. /end_rant
