On Amazon unless it is music or a book their search is abysmal. Searching for computer bits is dire.

Yes they need to provide a way that the customer can phone them back (on a publicly published number). Unfortunately last time I asked a caller from my companies bank what department I needed to ask for, they said the call centre couldn't put me through to his particular department. IIRC it sounded like it would have been to our advantage.

I know that some RJ45 sockets have integrated magnetics like on the Raspberry Pi, on most PCB's I've seen with an RJ45 separate magnetics can clearly be seen on the PCB next to the socket.
Smaller possible? Nearly all the volume in a plug and socket are plastic with electronic purpose.

One big problem all these small devices have is that an RJ45socket is very large in comparison and often requires an increase in the devices thickness so massively increasing the volume.
Intel have muscle to create a new smaller ethernet connector standard. I do hope they do.
I'd expect it be either 'Installing extra software' (who knows what anti-virus, toolbars or malware etc a youngster might install unwittingly) or it might get round parental controls.
Technically it is a criminal offence! Though I can't see any sensible parent going the nuclear route.
We had a work experience lad who downloaded on one of our PCs at least three applications without authorisation. He was also work shy and only lasted a couple of days.
Education and talking to your children is the key.

Also when trying to understand tides it is important to know if the moon is despun like Earth's (i.e. the same face of the moon always faces Earth.)

I read that to say it is despun so I'm not sure how the Phobos has tides, unless Mars has significantly irregular gravity! Which I wouldn't have expected.
It may be to early to tell but the only benefit quoted is "this saves a lot of weight". To some people 10% is 'a lot'. It would be great if this does result in more efficient batteries but it seems to early to say if the pro's are going to outweigh the cons. I wish them well.
Thanks for the post Teddy. The article didn't explain the term 'platooning' but your comment explained enough thanks. All the other articles on driverless cars I've read have referred to 'convoys' . Why articles do not include an explanation for terms that I'm sure many readers won't have seen in that context before, is sloppy journalism.

So I duly signed up, but during signing up I was never asked for a code. I then found out that anyone can sign up for free no code is necessary. noddle.co.uk
I also do wonder about the reports usefulness, any misuse of my financial information would probably takes weeks if not months to show up. Some people might thing it offered some protection not just tell you the horse bolted a month ago.

Whilst resolutions greater than 1080p may not be noticeable to most people with a good 1080p source. Most TV is broadcast with such high compression that the jpeg artefacts are obvious:-(
Higher resolutions will mean less noticeable artefacts:-)
n.b. The size of room is not important, it is the size of screen compared to how far away the viewer is that is relevant.
I'm one of the lucky ones. I happen to live next to an exchange so get 18-20Mbps.
Whilst I'm sure the vast majority of standard ADSL customers won't get 15Mbps maybe 5% do?
Is there something else like latency that means that 15Mbps over fibre could be used when 15Mbps over standard ADSL couldn't?

You misunderstood me, I wasn't suggesting ARM had done anything underhand or wrong. I was responding to the posts that all manufacturers have benchmark etc in mind when designing things.
My memory may be failing me but your statement that ARM 2 added a multiply instruction does ring a bell with me and that it was added with BM9 (or was it BM8?) in mind!
IIRC a talk I heard a few years ago from Sophie Wilson ARM added another instruction specifically to get Nokia as a customer. I suspect ARM would be very different (even maybe not exist) if they hadn't done that. A world without ARM doesn't bear thinking of!
n.b. I've used an ARM based desktop computer as my main computer since the Archimedes came out (1987)

Morally to my mind about half the profit should be declared in the country of sale and half in the USA I can see an argument for more of the profit to have been made in the USA but not for a third country (Ireland) that artificially has the sales routed through it. What the law says, the courts will decide.

It is never going to happen, the power line on an HDMI display is designed for EDID and the standard says devices should draw 50mA maximum! You couldn't even run a Pi model A+ on that.
