Re: "the marginal cost of sharing and making copies of things is pretty close to zero"

Look into standard music distribution contracts. You'll find a whole load with an arbitrary percentage of sales profits held back from the artist to cover costs that used to be incurred through losses shipping fragile bakelite records around the country, and haven't been actually incurred in 40+ years.

Re: "It'll stifle [..] innovation."

I like how it'll simultaneously stifle innovation and create obsolescence by everyone using the same connector. If your connector was driving innovation, there'd be no obsolescence, would there?

Must be true though. My last three cars have all used the same fuel hose and that's why this one doesn't have any more features than the 15 year old one. Unless you count power steering, abs, cruise control, automatic lights and wipers, no-fog windows...

I can't believe you're playing to that outdated, and frankly racist stereotype. Also it's okay if a vampire calls themselves a bloodsucker because they reclaimed it, but you shouldn't use it yourself.

Amazon...

Have an expected shipping date in August. What the heck, ASUS?

@John Latham: The difference in spec (which is only the capacity of the SSD - 12GB on windows, 20GG on linux) is there so that the windows model doesn't cost more than the linux one. It's probably a 'keep Microsoft happy' compromise, but currently XP costs 8GB of SSD goodness.

Not for climbing

Just in case it isn't obvious, there's absolutely no way this are load-rated karabiners. Not for climbing. Mmkay?
