Blur vs Split Second Velocity

MrM

I Agree

With the comparison. Blur is a Playstation 1 game with better textures - Do a couple of laps and any respectable gamer will feel they've played it before years ago & they were bored of it then!

Split Second had a lot of potential & initially i thought it had been pretty well executed - but does it have any longevity? I cant see it, once youve seen all the set pieces crumble down for the 4th, 5th time all your left with is a sloppy arcade racer (the type in which you can do a lap using nothing but the throttle, leaving the steering to the barriers.)

If you fancy either game my advice would be wait a month - you'll get them out of the bargain bin!

There's an application called GOTsend which converts (in a matter of minutes) MKV's HD or otherwise into MP4's which can be played on the 360 or PS3. Ive tested some 720p TV shows & can confirm it works a treat.

MrM

Other Possibilities...

If the problem is related to the USB 1.1 specification of your old laptop then perhaps a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card could help? although spending more money on your old laptop is probably not the best solution being that you've just purchased a new one.

T2 still No1

T2:Judgement Day is still my all time favourite film! I remember watching it as a kid and wishing i had my own terminator... infact i still do!

I was really dissapointed with the 3rd installment though, went to the cinema to see it and people were actually laughing out loud at some points! Comedy? in a Terminator movie? i know T2 has some amusing lines but T3 just took the pittle.

Regardless of where the story goes or who they cast, it just wont be the same for me without Arnie!

Xbox 360 'eaten' by alligator

MrM

@Mark - Again

Oh you are quite the boffin aren't you! Unfortunately Wikipedia seems to disagree with you:

Hear hear is an expression that originated as hear ye, or hear him, usually repeated. This imperative was used to call attention to a speaker's words, and naturally developed the sense of a broad expression of favour. This is how it is still used today, although one can always vary one's tone to express different sentiments; the Oxford English Dictionary noted around the turn of the century that the phrase is now the regular form of cheering in the House of Commons, and expresses, according to intonation, admiration, acquiescence, indignation, derision, etc. It is often incorrectly spelled "here here".

Not that I am being pedantic!

MrM

Sony: world PS3 sales pass 12.8m consoles

MrM

WTF?

How the feck could anyone say "the lack of imagination i find mind numbing" in reference to GTA4? Its clear to anyone with half a brain the amout of time and effort that has been put into the title, to say it suffers from lack of imagination is pure ignorance!

I know this bears no relation to this particular article but upon reading that comment i felt it my duty to respond.

Samsung to demo next-gen, 240Hz LCD TV tech

MrM

Thought it was just me!

"The potential flaw is that some folk already complain that 120Hz TVs produce movement that's too smooth, it seeems unnatural."

Now it all makes sense! i know a couple of people with large Samsung TV's and i keep thinking to myself that the way people move on screen just looks strange? I assume those sets are 120Hz!

Ofcom confirms Freeview will get HD next year

MrM

No Rush!

Well ill be in no rush to upgrade! i imagine it'll be many years before there'll be any decent HD content to justify the expense!

@david bates - i like your thinking, 90% of everything i watch comes from the internet! No need for tuners really. Once i can afford a couple of TB hard drives i think ill just live off my own archive.
