When I called to get a PAC code from o2 they offered me this handset as an alternative to the HTC hero, I told them to get stuffed.. They told me that it was going to launch around the end of the month (think he said 28th but not 100% on it)
If you want an Android phone you have the option of:
Samsung Galaxy - o2
HTC Hero - Orange & T Mobile (called the g2 touch)
HTC Magic - Vodaphone
Android is on pretty much all carriers, surely 3 will get one soon enough.
Doubt this one will sell as Samsung have been making some pretty dodgey phones recently..
Asking for it.
So people share their hard drives with personal details on, via a file sharing application become victims of id theft.... they should let the guy of to teach those idiots a lesson.
I've had the HTC Hero (branded the G2 touch on T-Mobile) for just over a week now and agree with the reviewer. Really does need more RAM, especially when using the messaging widget which can become laggy if you have a long conversation by text. The flash player is OK, still not 100% but a step forward. Whilst the web browsing is pretty much everything you could want from a mobile phone. It does require a reboot every couple of days to speed it up a little bit, but appart from that its a great phone. All of the services listed in the review were on the handset that I recieved from Tmobile.
More ammo for android
The barmy antics by Apple in the management of the software available for Apple products is just insane. They are limiting small developers and pissing off users. The naziesque policies, plus annoying tariffs are why I opted for the HTC hero/ tmobile f2f touch.
Quality of Students
Having come to the end of my final year at university this subject is pretty close to home. Looking around at my classmates I see why the older / more experienced folk are derisive of students. Of my class of 20/30 CS graduates 80% of them are poor quality programmers who scrape by the practical assessments and have a very limited understanding of programming outside of the examples given in lecturers..
The government are to blame with their ever moving attempt to force more people into heavy debt via student loans.
As for a job after uni, I have one lined up, stacking shelves and learning new skills until I can find a real job.
tis a nice app but given the way IPs seem to be assigned for ADSL connections in the UK it isnt going to work...
Good idea I guess, but wouldn't it be better to have settings to assign IP ranges a location..
View Points from a shop worker
I've worked selling alcohol for last 3-4 years and I can assure you that its a bigger headache to the staff than it is to you. There are posters in the store that I work (reasonable large frozen food company) telling the staff if you serve under 18s its a £10,000 fine, which you will be expected to pay. Hell I earn £6 an hour, if you want your booze and don't look old then no booze for you, pretty simple.
With military ID i'd be likely to accept it (because the cops can't pull fake ID), and treating one of "our boys" in such a manner is disgraceful. Oh and if your challenged for ID and you don't have it, then you can't buy the alcohol without the shop/cashier committing an offence.
Under 18's need authorisation from 18+ y/o staff to serve alcohol.
Whos to blame?
The police have to uphold the law, its there job.. So do we blame the coppers for this or the numptys in westminster that wrote it..
Now the reason they had to act could be some jumped up Scientology lawyers made a complaint and cited the act and the subclause, the plod checked it and had to act.. Of course the good old Scientologists wouldn't do THAT.
Well i'll try to stop opening up my console and eating the components until greenpeace say its safe...
Oh come off it, the reason the police turn up and out number people 5 to 1 is because of people who seem to think they shouldn't respect them. Its a hard and necessary job and someone has to do it, peoples view like this is just trivial..
How about we put all the "**** the police brigade" onto an Island with all society's miscreants and thugs and see how long they last until they change their minds..
Given he was made to look a lot older in the LOTR I'm sure its not hard to make him look a couple of years later...
Then again this is fantasy.. its not like in real life you fall into a pit fighting a spawn of Melkor and then fight your way back up to the top of a freezing mountain armed with naught but a wooden stick and sword..
