Netflix lets Apple TV owners subscribe on screen

Alan Denman

They need to make a statement on this.

These deals cost a lot from the rights holders so that 30% to Apple would really mean something like 50% less content on a costed basis.

We the user lose out with this overhead.

Steve Jobs' death clears way for Apple-Android peace talks

Alan Denman

Insanity law of patents.

We knew a few of the faithful were a bit over enthusiastic but methinks the patent off should now be certified insane.

Life's budgeting rules being patented are certainly 1984!

Sub-£400 svelte lappies hurled in Ultrabook preemptive strike

Alan Denman

Ultrakill courtesy of Apple?

Could it be that Ultrabooks chipsets were priced extortionately high in order to keep Apple happy?

Damned if you do, damned if you don't so they say.

Apple claims its 'innovation' creates 514,000 US jobs

My brain needs a wash.

Competitive corporate pressure at work maybe.

Anyone thinking the same?

Smartphone customers are the bystanders now getting stung.

Sadly it is what happens with search and destroy tactics.

Googorola's desire for iPhone royalties will upset Apple cart

Alan Denman

Microsoft is fair?

It's all seems to be marketing tactics/words from Apple.

Obviously, slavery is deemed fair if both sides know what they are getting!

Revealed: Apple's plea for fairness in mobile patent war

Alan Denman

Were Apple's court cases just used to train their fans?

One can't help think that most of their swipey rectangular court cases were to emphasise that everything else was 'not an iPhone'.

One just can't rest on ones laurels when it comes to persuading jou public into parting with 1000 bucks.

With $100 billion in the bank it thus sounds quite a squeal.

Mac OS X ARM port by Apple work experience kid revealed

Alan Denman

$5 dollar chips are always tempting,

With the iPhone 4 essentially being a $5 chipset the only things stopping Apple here is being going backwards.

However with the new Final Cut Pro X being a simpler edition of Final Cut Pro it is possible.

And consumer needs are certainly less than professionals.

Google limits Android support for CDMA phones

Alan Denman

Google is looking Sheepish.

The problem with open source is that it is the user who wins, not the corporates wanting all your money.

The future for them is Windows and IOS where users are much easier to fleece.

iPhone 4 incapable of handling Siri, says chip chap

Alan Denman

I call bullshit!

Yet there was no real need to cull the old iPhone Siri which worked better according to Woz.

Apple certainly likes it's customers to upgrade as often as they can.

Intel issues dividend, Apple sits on $97.6bn

Alan Denman

It is easy to ague that in classic vulture fund style Apple are removing money from the economy in order to benefit from the thus caused Apple recession. By being the biggest they are thus the most disruptive recession causing corporate in existance.

Woz praises Android, blasts iPhone limitations

Alan Denman

Oops Woz, what have you done

The Apple taliban will be after you now.

Apple accused of extortion by rival tablet biz

Alan Denman

Muller ignores the spice

What is obvious about these shrills is that they obscure the comedic nature of these patents

.

Paid shrill comes to mind when one looks beneath the patent surface and sees a plot suitable for a Black Adder sketch.

LG calls up 720p IPS screen smartphone for Verizon

Alan Denman

329ppi is too high to be useful

They really needed to enlarge the screen to 5" give usable justice to the 720p.

High ppi is for dummies.

Cray's Q4 whacked by AMD's Opteron delays

Alan Denman

They supply good stuff at decent cost.

I don;t see what good it does condemning those that rip us off less.

It's like saying 'let Intel have a full 100% so they can overprice way more'.

Apple shoots for Premier League soccer streaming rights

Asus drops GPS from tablet spec after issues emerge

Intel gets Atoms out ahead of CES

Alan Denman

Intel's worst decision ever......

.....was to limit the Atom netbooks to 1024 x 600 10.1" screens.

If a cheap $250 1kg 11.6" Netbook wit HD, HDMI and a full 1280 x 768 screen had exisited would so many have bought the iPad?

And now there is the Fusion to eclipse the Atom with that above.

No winner in Android v iPhone 2011 marathon

Alan Denman

Charge me more please?

Europe seems to be abandoning the iPhone so only the UK is left helping Apple continue to overcharge.

'Android malware must be kind of thrilling for Microsoft'

Alan Denman

In a walled garden there is mainly grass.

and freetard stuff like VLC and Firefox may well get classified as malware.

iPhone 4S owners love Siri, hate the battery life

Alan Denman

40% battery loss goes to only 11% importance - Anything goes then?

If Apple can get away with removing the battery saving 2G setting one wonders what future sacrifices owners will be giving their blessing to.

Similar audacious moves within the Android world have met with very short thrift.

Ultrabook prices to fall as manufacturers slash margins

Alan Denman

A hundred conspiracy theories and no doubt many are true

It looks like Intel have a long term partnership with Apple as part of their survival plan.

Why sell anything to those who wish to supply the public with budget offerings?

It ain't worth it so by overpricing they may actually increase sales elsewhere!

iPhone 4/4S 'self combusts' in airliner inferno

Alan Denman

It only affects a very small percentage ........ of planes

'Only a very small percentage'.

Tell it again Apple?

Alan Denman

A sad downer waiting to happen.

All of these devices need to have the battery removed in flight.

As they get older the explosive risk increases .

It seems almost inevitable that the carrying of devices with non removable batteries will be eventually banned. Lets hope I am wrong.

Apple eyes set on Sharp IGZO tech for iPad 3 screen

Alan Denman

Totally pointless.

OK, with a 15" tablet 1080p might just cut it though optimum fur user's use is near 720p.

So I don't see the point of this apart from a dire need to be different/expensive,

Dumb, very niche technology as far as I'm concerned. Sounds cheap as chips if they are just reusing semi-redundant TV fabs though.

There's certainly profit in the barmy logic.

Apple boots MacBook Air wannabes out of slim case fabs

Alan Denman

Slim sales tickled with a feather?

Considering so few are buying the bloat priced ultrabooks I find this hard to believe.

Kindle Fire: An open letter to Jeff Bezos

Alan Denman

Are these people real.

Despite it stating that it curates all the APPS people seemingly buy it in order to complain.

A great buy for all who know what they are doing,

3m iPad 3 'retina' screens sent to Apple by month's end

Alan Denman

Retina bigger and even more Cretina?

Whilst those with the small screened iPhone 4 versions will buy into it, making it Retina is making it exclusive but pointless for most.

Obviously the low resolution screen needs improving but even a more likely 1600 X 1200 is just too much for that size.

Amazon's new Kindle Fire stripped naked

Alan Denman

cRetina logic means...

Its superior by far having a higher ppi count.

Welcome to the retina fan club,

Apple recalls first iPod Nanos over battery flaw

Reading between the 'lets beat around the bush' lines it sounds me like they all might eventually explode.

Adobe's future is controlling what you watch, not delivering it

Alan Denman

play ball or we boot you out of our APP store.

Obviously the decided that the proprietary nature of most mobile systems means their future is on very insecure.

Playing ball gives their app development kit a better chance of survival.

Again it is a farce that we will need an APP for every single DRM laden web site.

Goodbye open web.

Alan Denman

Are you a Flash moron?

There's a billion apps for that!

iOS upgrade swells iPhone battery-suckage grief

Alan Denman

Buy AMD

AMD ultra-books at $300+ are the way to go.

Intel really seem to not want the business.

Ballmer disses Android as cheap and complex

Alan Denman

Simple and lacking is ovviously what they want us to have.

Obviously the great duopoly's aim is to give us serious limitations so that their phones. tablets laptops are also a triple necessity.

Android gives the user what they want, not what those great corporates want us to have.

Vodafone customers fume over iPhone 4S delays

Alan Denman

4th day of xmas.............

Obviously once you get to day 4 and don't have the iPhone it's at least 'four mockingbirds'.

Down but not out: Flash in an HTML5 world

Alan Denman

The Dinosaur rocks?

I can't see the point of software engineers being forced to yabba dabba do because Apple say so.

iBuyers may claim happiness with their time warp trips to the stone age but the rest of the world still moves forward.

Alan Denman

Funny how it has gone full circle with Flash now seen as a saviour of the web

APPS are where certain device makers now have full corporate control.

So if we want the web to stay significant and under consumer control Flash needs to play a good part.

Pay Jobs due respect - by crushing the empire he created

Alan Denman

Love is blind

History will dictate that there was a major love affair with flawed, faulty, illogical and seriously restrictive designs.

However we will forever marvel at how he got away with it. Yes indeed, love is blind.

Opera brings fondleslab-style reading to bog-standard web

Alan Denman

The web is banned.

Opera Mobile is banned on the iPhone so never expect a decent web where APPS are king.

iPhone 5: Apple 4S, pundits 0

Alan Denman

Cack screen says it all

Considering the majority don't want a tiny screen it was just dead easy for gullible journalists to think bigger.

Yep, the screen is the same small fry so they assumed there was a bigger one.

Wishful thinking of course.

Galaxy S2 envy certainly shines from beyond the court rooms.

Amazon's Kindle Fire is sold at a loss

Alan Denman

If enough of you speak bollocks you start to believe it,

That new Archos 8" was released last week at £200 in the UK (includes 20% sales tax).

It looks far more appealing than the Kindle Fire with its extra connectivity, functions and 1026x768 screen..

So have Archos decided to bankrupt themselves or is this idiotic mantra?

Android's scariest nightmare: resurgently sexy Microsoft

Alan Denman

mAppleSoft

Can't have consumers choosing freely so Apple and Microsoft might well become known as mAppleSoft.

Apple turns the screws on reseller channel

Alan Denman

Crumbs folks.

Joyous crumbs but that's your lot with Apple.

Resellers should be glad to think of themselves as devotees.

With Apple there are plenty of people wiling to work for nothing.
