Because of its placement in the engine (underneath? I dunno) they have to take the whole engine out. Its not a serviceable part. Presumably it was thought that it would last the life of the engine. As it was it clogged up at 41,000 miles.
/edit: Also they don't just clean it. They replace it with a modified part.

Defence of Colin Baker
I really liked where he tried to take the character. Sure he was still quirky (and was made to wear a fucking stupid suit by the Beeb) but he was also a bit ruthless when needed and other-worldly. In some ways the only Dr to try to hark back to Hartnell (vaguely.)
Unfortunately this was, in-the-main, the nadir of the beeb's effort towards Dr Who. There were a few good serials but most were fucking terrible :) Not really Colin's fault though.
Same with Sylvester but personally I wasn't as interested in the new direction of the character. Mostly clowny but with a subtle darkness underneath. Mmm, interesting but subtlety can get missed on a kids show.
Anyway, I voted for Eccleston. Just didn't strike me as Dr Who. Might have voted for Smith but I've slept through so many of his eps I don't really know.

Canvassing info, no way. If they didn't get you to sign a disclaimer on the doorstep that they might use the info to disqualify you from future influence in the Labour Party or some-such then its a clear DPA breach.

Also, Harriett Harmen specifically mentioned at the start of the campaign that it would enable former members and voters who have drifted to other parties to have some say in the future direction of the party and come back. I'll try to dig the tweet out where she is quoted. She only changed her tune once Corbyn looked like he had a possibility of victory.

Granted, Gaelic was dominant at one time but that was about a thousand years ago. Anglo-Saxon and Norman influences dominated the populous lowlands thereafter.

To be fair Scottish Gaelic was never the only language in Scotland. Scots was also a major language, coming from the same Germanic root as English but NOT being English. Scottish-English is English with a Scottish Accent, Scots is a Scottish language.
Gaelic is actually an Irish language, more imported than Scots. Before either of those a language from the Brittonic family of Celtic languages (rather than the Gaelic family) was probably dominant.

Sounds plausible but if I delete the app and re-download won't he lose all his progress in the game?
(I realise this depends how they implement saves but afaik save to cloud is pretty rare still. After all I didn't create login credentials for anything except Angry Birds Star Wars II.)

SD Storage question
Before I'd consider an Android phone:
I haven't had an Android for a while now but my son's Hudl 2 tablet doesn't make good use of SD Cards at all. When I filled up its 16GB with games I bought a 32GB SD and went through the Apps section in Settings pressing 'Move to SD Card.'
However it only moved about 10% of each game over to the SD Card and the rest stayed on the device.
Bugger all use.
Is this a normal Android behaviour or is it Tesco-specific?

The abortion limit is 24 weeks in the UK and with good reason. Many abnormalities are only detected at the 20-week scan stage and are not apparent before then. These could mean that the foetus has no chance of survival and may endanger the life of the mother.
Almost all abortions after 20 weeks fall into categories like this. Women don't suddenly decide they don't want a baby half-way in (or if they do they'd get counselling.) The idea that the 24 week limit is there for women who haven't got round to having an abortion yet because they were too busy partying in Ibiza to be bothered is the sort of thing anti-abortion groups would like you to think.

To be honest I hadn't bothered with ABP for a few years but I've put it on everything now.
It has the bonus of making The Daily Mash site actually readable rather than flicking around all over the place as the ads load. Also the ubiquitous Clickbait links are gone. Why did I ever stop using it?

The UI is a confusing mess and a total faff to use compared to Spotify. Why on earth they thought that mashing up iTunes libraries with a streaming service would give a great experience is beyond me.
However, if I can get used to it in the next couple of months and the library is on a par with Spotify I will probably still swap for the above reason. £15 for a family of four is cheaper than Spotify who would charge me £25 for the privilege.
I just wish they'd realise the error of their ways and release an app free from the iTunes bollox.

The essential elements that caused these countries to become rich are rule of law and enforcement of contract. Without those investment is too risky to bother with, it's better just to farm the masses for small bits of wealth while they remain dirt poor in those circumstances.
Rule of law has to be enforced against the rulers as well as the masses. Hence the reforms of the Glorious Revolution, more so than Magna Carta, kicking off the beginnings of British dominance in the world in wealth and power. Other countries which still allowed their rulers and elites to welch on deals if they felt like it couldn't muster the investment Britain could.
Rule of law and enforcement of contract generally require a reasonably powerful state to enforce them. Wasteful shit will build around it once wealth starts to grow as noted but that doesn't mean all state-spending is such.

Giffgaff
Giffgaff is pretty good for data and signal round me. The call quality is never the best but adequate.
On the other hand Giffgaff is pretty useless at the in-laws. The signal is great and shows no sign of weakness, calls are fine too, but the '3G' connection seems unable to process data at more than GPRS speeds.
