Over 50 comments so far and not one "I wish my wife/girlfriend was as dirty as these PCs"!
Do Reg readers not have girlfriends or don't they have a puerile sense of humour?
And there was me ready with the obligatory reply "she is mate!"
Standards are slipping. Or rising.
Not so inexplicable
"somewhat inexplicably express his telephonic preference"
Presumably Santa has tried canceling a contract with this company and is thoroughly fed up being hassled by them. Pissing on their logo is the only rational response although personally I just avoid dealing with any company with "4U" in its name.
This can't be right
I saw Mr O'leary on telly the other night and he said the baggage charge was intended to discourage customers from taking extra luggage making turnarounds quicker. Why would they then opt-in customers? If they want to discourage people from taking extra luggage surely the default should be an opt-out.
Unless of course Mr O'leary was talking pish.
Nothing new here
A similar thing happened to me when Visual Cafe went to the wall - my email address (a unique one only issued to VC when registering a trial version) ended up in the hands of spammers.
I can only assume VC's contacts list was sold as an asset to the highest bidder. Opting out from email campaigns when providing my email address made no difference. Be very careful of what data you pass on to private companies, especially ones not bound by the UK's data protection laws.
Anyone who thinks wild beaver was extinct in Scotland obviously hasn't been to Clatty Pat's!
I entered "meaning of life" and WA got the right answer faster than Deep Thought so I was impressed ;-)
@amanfromMars - I got the impression it was Wolfram himself the author didn't like and this coloured his article.
@James Hughes - Use of the word fail instead of failure always leads me to anticipate a snide diatribe. Obviously not the case here. Obviously.
perhaps he had to do more than "siphon the python"
ok, ok I'm going!
Google used to be a good search engine
This is another change that adversely affects the accuracy of google's results (in the broad sense, including adverts). Google used to be a really good search engine but its results are becoming less and less relevant.
Room is opening up for a new lean, mean search engine that focuses on giving accurate results (a bit like google itself used to do).
Page 3 is probably the least offensive thing in that bloody rag!

Music royalties group poo
This headline was truncated to "Music royalties group poo" by my news ticker, which I quite liked.
However my favourite truncated headline has to be from the BBC: "Mills-McCartney hires royal leg [al team]".
I don't accept the analogy used here. Skype customers do not pay anything extra for each call received: they pay a standard charge to their ISP for the ability to receive calls. This is not the same as paying an amount on a per-call basis. The current arrangement is more like a marriage than a cheap hooker!
Spam callers will be jumping for joy if this proposal is ever accepted. It is not always easy to screen calls.
BT recently managed to send me an email advertising their new credit card but didn't have the common decency to send one advising that they were making these changes. Shows where their priorities lie.
