Taser used appropriately?
How is this a story? Finally the taser used in an appropriate manner. We want to read about the cops tasing old ladies and torturing already subdued suspects to death....Can we clone those officers and replace the entire US police force with them?
Still not doing a chimp
Whatever! I'm still NOT going to do a chimp! Makes you wonder what goes on at the "dna research" sessions at that Lab
Joseph Edward Duncan III << Indefinite imprisonment
Joseph Edward Duncan III was a released pedophile. Maybe if he was in jail indefinitely a family in Idaho family would be alive:
WTF? Reg paid off by big oil now too?
WTF Reg? Since when are you supporting the big oil agenda?
free red Sox and Patriots tickets
I wonder how many free Red Sox and Patriots tickets the Charlie card vendors had to give to the MBTA IT "decision makers" to get their product in the door. >>Somewhere there is a cover up....
I like the tokens any way they were inflation proof, waterproof, and never left a 50 cent balance (which is not enough to ride)
FYI the MBTA is a very lucrative quasi-goverment agency and it is probably not subsidized at all...probably it turns a good profit.
Taser standard procedures
Lets face it Tase 1st ask questions later is the new "Standard Procedure"
I always politely co-operate with the police, but have found that they can be unreasonable bullies when they want with no ramifications.
Here is a charming story of a standard procedure: tasing the bride and groom at their wedding after hauling away the grooms elderly dad to jail....
the fix is in and forgotten
Check it out:
Do you ever wonder how the world might be if Gore wasn't cheated of being elected in 2000?
Florida and Ohio were the lynch-pins of Bush's 2000 election. Ohio election board officials have been convicted of vote tampering (after a Republican administration enacted a paper-less, non-auditable electronic voting system). The Florida elections scandal was played out in the press. Pop Quiz: Who was the Governor of Florida during the 2000 elections?
Microsoft out of touch
Microsoft is out of touch. Vista is a huge flop and all Microsoft is doing is spin. I hope they get it together before everyone switches to Linux.
I wish they would stop screwing with the administration interfaces so much. Changing the names on everything, putting it in different places...Its just annoying and lends the impression there is nothing new in the OS just a re-organization and re-naming of the same functions and features.
Don't even get me started on the "security" features.....
and people say California is crazy. 8.5 jahr? Stimmt? Is cannibalism legal in Germany too?
Why so popular in France then?
Perhaps Ms Toulouse could explain why King Aurthur and his all-star Celtic warrior band is so popular in medieval France...extremely popular among the troubadours and ruling elite of medieval France...I mean if it is just English propaganda..... Many suggest that the French medieval troubadours are the main reason the stories survive today....
retiring yeah right
After taking a couple camping trips with the family he'll be right back in the business of inter-galactic domination 1st qtr 2009.
Thank you Standard Oil
The core of the wealthly elite in America has its origins in fossil fuels...suggesting that Americans create/use an efficient/renewable mass transportation system is akin to becoming communist, hippy, tree-hugging, French speaking, metric users....
What next socialized medecine?
Recycle TCP 119
I was a USENET fan for many years in the 1980s-1990s
Lets face it the USENET protocol has functionally been replaced by blogs, forums and social networking sites and now only serves three purposes:
2) Porn that is so evil it makes porn fans barf
3) Malware distribution
Can we have TCP 119 for something else please? Somehow I just don't associate a kiddie-porn-bestiality-snuff porn that comes with a free root-kit with freedom of speech
Move on Tiler and Tailor
Its very heart warming to me that these silver spoon rowers are able to re-distribute their family's wealth among the Boston area legal community.
I wonder how long it will take them to realize that if they spend too much on the lawyers that their Crew lifestyle and future of leather easy chairs, brandy and cigars may be threatened.
Paris, because she s all about spreading the wealth and reaching out to the commoners and little people....
I live 7 miles from work and could easily bicycle at least 6 months of the time, if the roads were not full of humvees and monster trucks driving like idiots, trying to run everyone down.
As for rear enders my Honda Civic survived 3 rear enders from big V8 boats without any need for repair.
Another fun fact is that when I lived in Kentucky and the good old boys would try to run the Honda off the back kountry roads with their Ford V8 Pickup trucks, I could hit turns at 60 mph and laughed pretty good watching them hit the ditch in my rearview mirror...and pick up gas in the next county too
run them all down...
Americans drive big trucks and SUVs so they can drive aggressively, cut off Honda Civics, run bicyclists into ditches-sidewalks-telephone poles, kill the neighbors pets and prove that global warming is BS.
After driving efficient Japanese cars for 30 years...it is nice to see the new trend....
Employee of the Month
Impressive accomplishment. He should be awarded employee of the month for such persistence, not demoted. Imagine surfing porn at work until you have gathered enough malware that the system is unusable. Lets hope he also had a huge database of other peoples' financial and personal information on his computer as well, that is now in the hands of the Russian Business Network.
What crap, Reg you should be ashamed printing this stoopid crap. This is the kind of research I'd expect from the Bush Administration not the Register. These researchers are probably used to getting fake answers from women anyway.
NO ONE CARES
What is truly shocking is that no one cares. Democracy is being stolen by Diebold. Stop watching "Dances with the Stars" and do something before we attack and de-stabilize another world trade rival for the enrchment of the corporate welfare upper crust....
makes total sense
Never underestimate a criminal mind. Alton and Deborah Coleman (Serial Killers) used classisifed ads to find victims in the 80's, they'd pop in, ask to see the camper or whatever was for sale and kill everyone...
Focus on Perimeter
This is not suprising. Most "IT Decision Makers" focus on perimeter securtiy and just assume their interior network is secure. In the meantime bored employees spend time on myspace firing off uncountable application layer exploits. Most IT depts can patch Windoze, but they fail to fix the Flash Plugin vunerability of the month
To make the story richer most 3rd party security auditing is done by entry level people who have little technical traning and are struggling to grasp basic network architecture issues. That has been my experience in New England.
Since Apple switched to an intel platform at least it is possible for them to switch to Ubuntu as well...Maybe we can see some Apple commercials with the smug, emo, arty
Apple dude getting owned by some hacker geeks, while the chubby windoze dudes watches with MrT. or Chug Norris as a bodyguard....
This was inevitable. Apple has been stumbling in the dark for 10-15 years in the OS/Desktop/laptop dept. Apple should focus on iTunes and the iPhone. The current "macs" are pc's with a port of BSD ho-hum.
Microsoft owns it is the least secure OS of the bunch and makes an effort to correct it. Its for sure a lot more Windoze will get hacked, only beacasue there are so many more windoze systems compared to Macs and MacTards....
3 childern dead for info-porn
3 childern dead all for the sake of info-porn. Nice of Cicada to disregard the advice of the scholars and professionals. Good to know Cicada is also an authority on contagious diseases. They have video cameras they must know everything.
The only person who is not suspect in this case Is the person who called the victim to ask about the horse ahead of time. The victim told the looters he was the rightful owner, and this was a hoax, and to leave his stuff alone. The looters ignored him. I would say the truck that sped off with the victims ladders, lawn mowers, etc was clearly "intent to pernanently deprive."
Everyone else is suspect and could be a clever thief, whether or not they return the property they took. I doubt they left the victim an itemized list of the property they took and where to contact them....
And anyone one that waves a printout of a craigslist ad as proof they can take whatever they want is stoopid!
Something for Nothing=suspect
The police should prosecute regardless. Ignorance and stupidity is no excuse for theft. Simply put one of the "looters" could be the clever thief who posted the ad on Craigslist. Tagging the looters for thieving might learn them that you can't get something for nothing.
>>Network Management?? >>its Comcastic!
Maybe Comcast should focus on managing all the SPAM and DDOS attacks generated by its networks, instead of focusing on alternative multi-media delivery systems that compete with "On Demand." Probably the next step is when they start to mess with Vonage and other consumer VoIP applications.
If ISP's are allowed to block ports and shape traffic at will, where will it end? Just last night a guildy told us his ISP arbitrarily decided to block the World of Warcraft ports...now he is scrambling to get another broadband ISP.
Since Comcast started doing its "Network Management" it seems I get dc'd a lot more than ever before, in contrast my Cable TV and Cable telephones are all online, all the time....
No one listened 10 years ago....
Ohio used to have an automated, computerized voting system that relied on punch cards. Votes were tabulated in a very timely fashion and there was a hard paper trail. Ohioans had an accurate vote tally most times before the 11:00 News and always in time for the morning paper....The mouse trap worked quite well.
The Ohio Republican party decided to moderinze all this with touch screens that leave no paper trail....Did Clintonista victories in the Buckeye state have anything to do with that? Oh well "modrenization" is always good right?
When I explained this to my relatives in Ohio 10 years ago and pointed out they were easily compromised, exploited, etc they looked at me like I told them about flying saucers and the loch ness monster.
