Primary school miss flashes porn vid at kiddies

Depends on what act and from what angle

If all they saw was a bum moving up and down or extreme close up on body parts that may take a few seconds to recognise what they are mid film, they might not have seen (or at least not think they have seen) anything bad.

But then, she might not have been into tame stuff.

Surely its down to Motorola, the manufacturers of the phone, not the software installed on it. Even if there is a HCF instruction in the processor.

Dropping my old 31 inch TV into a skip was quite impressive.

Was at the local dump dropping into an 8 - 10 foot skip (set of steps at the public's side)

Was going to watch it land when I lowered it over the side and let go, but thought better of it. Lucky I did as bits of glass flew up higher than the sides of the skip, then the cloud of metallic dust came out. Legged it to the van and did up the windows.

Shame, that TV lasted me 8 years before it started going wonky.

Windows Phone 7 gets unlocked

Wize

Even if they let you port from an old version of Windows Mobile...

...you are still locked to that operating system.

Its why I don't like buying phone apps. Two years after you get the phone and pondering an upgrade you feel a little locked in to that one type of phone to keep everything working.

Very true, all you need is a small controller. Smart but not too smart. Should run till the chips wear out.

Trouble is, the powers that be want more and more out of things, so there is a danger of a windows CE device (or what ever its called now) being used

My electric meter was fitted in the 80s and still works fine.

Imagine a computer doing that job thats just 10 years old? Windows of that age is not supported anymore. You can't remote install a new version because the hardware won't take it.

You are left with meters that need to be changed out every few years to make sure they are fully patched and supported.

If these smart meters are supposed to lower your carbon footprint, it will be offset in the wrong direction with all this extra waste of equipment.

Not to mention all the people hacking into the boxes to get cheep electricity (and if they are on the same street as you, hacking into yours and increasing your use so all the sums add up)

I have to run my PS3 from wifi (that or go under the floorboards and run cat 5) and during MW2 I'd sometimes get the error that I'd lost connection (the network unplugged symbol).

I've had the same in COD-BO but instead of being dropped out the lobby, everyone returns to the lobby with me. Which says its not my connection to the net but a game server problem that never appeared with the MW2

Sling Media Slingbox Pro-HD network TV tuner

Wize

I have one of the early sling boxes

Back then you had to pay for the phone app (Symbian version) and you had to pretend to be from America to get it. Always thought paying for a phone app was a waste of money as you have to buy nonsense like this again when you change phone manufacturer. But thats just me ranting again.

Are you able to record streams from it to watch later? Handy in a hotel room to download a TV episode or two overnight via wifi to watch on the long train ride home, but the Sling people never liked it.

Good old Slingcorder let you do that, as long as you had an older version of the Sling Player software.

Another personal attack?

Lets see,

I'm supposed to be foaming at the mouth and relying on hyperbole. Now you are questioning why I should have a Facebook account?

Why the ad hominem attack?

Can you not discuss the topic without giving out abuse to people you do not agree with?

Can you explain why I, and others, have the username/password boxes as per my screenshot?

As for how secure your details with them are. Recently some Facebook app writers were caught selling of user details. Going back further, you'll find tales of some T-Mobile staff selling personal details of customers off without management's knowledge.

Do you really trust everyone in Facebook (and their selected partners) who have access to the whole database? It only takes one person getting a wad of cash dangled in front of them and your data will be as safe as a database burned to CD in the hands of a train riding government employee.

If you want to go trusting them with your passwords, thats up to you.

But there is no need to get derogatory about those who are not so trusting as you.

Wize

@Alastair

Maybe which one you get depends on your browser. IE and Firefox both enter it in a Facebook window. I believe the majority of users have one of the two.

But, even though you have a popup window with Google.com in the address bar, can you ever be 100% sure its the correct site?

If you were on a random site and they popped up a box proclaiming to be from your bank with a convincing looking url, would you give them your bank details?

Of course not.

Banks recommend that you enter their web page address manually in your address bar rather than clicking links due to security. And the average email account probably has enough information to have half a stab at getting the user's bank details, I'd treat it the same.

iPhone 4: the best built smartphone...

Wize

The drop rate may probably be the same across each phone model...

...but whether or not it survives by bouncing is another story. The other half has dropped her Blackberry Storm (with no case at the time) on the odd hard surface with not even a scratch. Put glass on both sides of it and a crack is more likely.

Cases can also mess up the results. The N97 (which would probably put Nokia in the lead for most faults in a handset) doesn't lend itself readily to a case, where the iPhone can be covered almost entirely in a nice bouncy silicon cover.
