Umm

Apple dont sell mp3s.

Just sayin....

Antidisestablishmentarianist
WTF?

"The Vault"

So each of the 20k employees lined up and got their 1k cash handed to them off the 20m pile just inside the vault they have at Google? Then feared for their lives on the way home, chauffeured in the Google buses?

LOL. Whatever.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

You're right

Nobody would take such an interest in an android phone for example

Antidisestablishmentarianist

AT&T?

Basically this is another AT&T is crap article isn't it? It's just that as the iPhone exposed that crapness, it seems to get tarred with AT&T's stinky brush.

Were are the non-american-at&t centric articles eh?

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Just a small laptop?

Just a *slow* laptop surely. I bought one hoping it was just a small laptop for occasional use. Instead I encountered a turgid mess. I had low expectations too. Pointless. I quickly got rid of it.

Antidisestablishmentarianist
FAIL

Quite....

You can get that spec in box the size of a mini? Really? Or are you sniffing glue......

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Some of there monitors are nice though

It's a shame someone else doesn't sell them for them though - my Dell buying experiences have been poster children for "how to turn a simple purchasing pricess into a horror show".

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Seven Inches?

I don't get it either. I want 13 inches. I can handle it.....

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Hopefully...

...the spectular list of crashes is less than the ones I get frequently on 3.6.10

Gates Halo

Conspiracy

It's just Microsoft showing that Linux can be pwned too.

Or it's just to provide me with entertainment as the Freetards jump to a desperately-trying-to-be sensible-yet-still-frothing defense of their loved OS.

For that I thank you Microsoft.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

okay okay

on further investigation there is smartphone control.

Antidisestablishmentarianist
FAIL

Ummmmi

So I have to pay ~25 a month on top of my ISPs charges to use up my allotted bandwidth?

Whatever.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

keyboard?

You have to use a keyboard? How old school, and not in a cool way. I'll give a week before people are over it.....

Come on, where are the hookups with Android phones etc ala AppleTV and and iOS.

And I'll also throw in a 'how much?' 'cause I want be be popular like all you other kids.

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Troll

Incredulous?

"...many Android users find themselves incredulous that editing isn't possible..."

I suspect that many Android users find themselves incredulous about many things in life.

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Flame

Awwww

is the poor little linux boy getting upset because someone is getting a taste of the same medicine every other OS gets when a fault is found.....

Be careful getting off your high horse - it's a long way down.

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Big Brother

I'm surprised...

...they have already started tagging all known 'street' webcams and provided tunnelled links to the feed. Of course they'll tell the owners of the webcams they're doing this.

Of course they will......

Antidisestablishmentarianist

"a large stiff one"

Yes, but whose?

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Terminator

Nokia

Kind of like your embarrassing Uncle trying to be cool and 'down with the kids'.

Or something.

Give it up.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Hmm

Looks literally like a scaled up iPhone 4.

Is there no originality left in the world?

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Stop

Now now....

You'll upset all those fragile freetards out there with your talk of theft.

If you keep on they'll just start up their tired illogical diatribes of sticking-it-to-the-man etc etc

Yawn

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Flame

So...

"The real story is simply that some people are too stupid to own a smartphone."

Yes, all the stupid sheeple should just get iPhones right? and leave smart people to the 'smart' Android.

Actually I'm totally happy if that's the case. It means if I ever see someone with an Android phone I'll just avoid them - as they obviously have an overinflated sense of smartness, which as we all know is long hand for fuckwit, or something....

(I own neither an iPhone or Android owner - just a proud oldskool "it's just a phone FFS" owner)

Go Oracle!!

Whoop whoop!

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Stop

Sadly

Such comments on 'orientation' officially got 'old' after the 6243rd posting. Yours is the 7821st, so it's time to get a new quip lest ye embarrass yourself.

The lamest...

...Apple tie in of the week.

Please try harder.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Who are more upset here?

The fanbois, or the anti-Apple crew?

If only the world was powered by righteous indignation and froth and spittle from the mouth, then we'd never have an energy crisis again.

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Flame

Spoken like a

true freetard.....

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Pfft

My N95 has been able to do all of this for years, and I got it free in a box of cereal from Tesco's.

Oh wait, this isn't an iPhone article? Bugger.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

pr0n? PRoN??

It was the NY Times amongst others thank you. My pr0n site have never let me down......;)

Good tip on disabling that interweb thingy - thanks. It reminds me it was how I got an ancient version of Photoshop Elements running once (it was hanging on startup going looking for updates).

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Funnily enough

Safari 5 saved my skin last night when Firefox decided to get in a loop of crashing on start (with attendent crash reporter) and studiously attempt to restore those same webpages that caused it to crash in the first place.

Indeed having two browsers is the best course of action. As always some pages work on one and not the other, and vice versa.

Chrome? Woudn't even think about it. Those Google people make it (shiver). They've already got some of my WiFi packets after all!

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Flame

Boohoo

Poor little freetards

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Heart

Oh Webby, where have you been?

We thought something awful had happened to you, but I see you're still around and full of the old venom.

Notice I said 'old' venom. G3s? G4s? Powerbooks? History. Surely you can spout about the screens on the 27" iMacs or something, or the DOA ones. You know - current issues.

But perhaps you got out of the Apple supporting game for your local school boards so long ago that you've only your old bitterness to regurgitate back up and froth about. Yum.

Anyway, don't stop. You're the best.

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Big Brother

Naive...

...or what. Expecting an Apple product to play nice with something jailbroken.

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Gates Halo

Nice one

Microsoft are arse, but anything that can wipe a bit of smug off a open sourcerers face is just fine my me.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Confused

This is a Reg article that is agreeing with Jobs?

Just checking.....no it's not April 1st again.

What's going on?

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Grenade

Funny

People were bitching that the iPhone OS didn't have multitasking, and now that it does, the bitching hasn't stopped - just changed. I fear the OS will never make you happy. Best go back to your Windows 1.0 and Palm Pre.

Someone said this re the iAds feature:

"I think he just sold a million more Androids with that line."

How naive can you get. Android is produced by the biggest advertiser in the world (that would be Google). Why do you think Google did it? Fun? (Pssst, it's advertising stupid).

Antidisestablishmentarianist

My LW

Can't wait for me to get her an iPad (she's so disinterested in Computers in general she'd never even consider buying one for herself). I bought her a Netbook. It's stuck in a cupboard somewhere. Why? It takes so long to boot, so long to get through all the security/virus updates that she wants to throw it out the window in frustration. All this to check her email, facebook, surf the web etc. My iPod Touch? Too small. iPad? Perfect size, and instant on. Done deal.

But it would have been nice to have a cam for Skyping.

I still just don't understand why people keep trying to think it's more than a media consumption device. It must be because they WANT it to be some magical net/note/laptop slaying device, and they're just disappointed/bitter it's not.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Okay

I'll call you a sceptic.

Sceptic.

There, done.

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Flame

Retarded?

Maybe you and the other three people in the world who bought a tablet pc should get together and start a group.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Pah

"My netbook can do all that, so what's the point"

Down with that sort of thing and other such comments.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Ummm....

I like it. Much 'fresher' than the now dated looking iPhone OS.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Flash based?

Wonder if they'll get them to rewrite it in HTML5...

Antidisestablishmentarianist

When in Rome....

etc etc

Antidisestablishmentarianist

What he said

Also, is it just me, or does the Win 7 Mobile interface (and latest Zune) look quite...well...fresh? I'm a typography fan and like what they've done.

The Apple iPhone OS is frankly looking a little dated....

Antidisestablishmentarianist
Flame

Umm...

Probably the same reasons people install Redmond crapware on their Windows machines?

Some (actually alot) people just want to do some 'work', not fuck about with the 'free as in free speech, not free as in free beer' alternatives. You know, the 9-5ers who 'work'. Not tweakers and freedom fighters.

(why is there no 'penguin with L on forehead' icon?)

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Subscriptions?

I'll pay for a subscription over my dead body. I want to BUY the music I want, OWN it, and have is physically on my machine.

Rental schmental.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Gosh

"Meanwhile 36,000 Tiger-fanciers are running Firefox 3.6, which is Mozilla’s current iteration of its popular browser."

I'm one of only 36,000? That makes me feel special.

o

Amen

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Grief

Man, I'd hate to be the screen supplier for Apple at the moment.......I'm guessing they weren't able to ramp up production and keep quality at the same level as the 'test' batch that would have been signed of.

Jobs will be chewing them out on a daily basis no doubt.

Perhaps the new delay is Apple finding themselves a new supplier? Risky though.

Antidisestablishmentarianist

Does what I want it

I understand some people want to multitask but I don't. I want to kick back on the sofa, rest the thing on my knees and have a play - surf the net or whatever. To me multitasking = working. If I want to work I go use a "computer". When I want to relax, yet still consume media, this pad thingy seems perfect. There is something refreshing and slightly retro about doing just one thing at a time. A fuck you to the fast world around us maybe.

Must be the season

for all these phone companies to sue and counter sue each other. Hopefully in all cases it's to the death...
