Did I miss something?
Ive spoken to Gaz and passed some info back as well as my contact details.
I appreciate there are contact us options but I am staging 5 new PC's in a bit of a hurry so was flapping slightly.
Well, the article was getting chrome to download a malware file as soon as the page loaded.
It has now stopped.
your_mortgage_payments.rar is downloaded upon opening this article!
Sorry dont have your number to warn you!
Reg! Youve got Malware coming from this page!!!
Their local backup of the website?
Surely it would have been quicker knowing the issue is quite large, to re-point the domain and setup hosting elsewhere?
Propagation only takes 10mins to 24 hours from experience working at Fasthosts.
"What's odd is the cops could just ask the telcos if someone's phone was in use at a particular time. What else could they be looking for? ®"
What if they are using handsfree or talking to the phones assistant (siri, cortana etc)
Is using a handsfree device also illegal? Perhaps next, listening to the radio will become illegal, since if you were really enjoying a talk show or a song, you might get distracted.
Of course, we'll then have to stop pretty ladies walking down the road with short skirts, because... well you get the idea..
You really have missed the point.
Its not that they dont know how to use the computers, thats what we're here for.
But when they've used said computers for "years of training and leaning" you would think they would know
- where the start button is
- what internet explorer/chrome are
- how to right click
One of the calls I get regularily.
From doctors and people that are meant to save your life!
"....Earlier P series models were priced £150-£200 (US$212-$282) below Samsung and Sony flagships. You got less for your money, but paid a lot less.
The P9 will be priced at €599 (US$683) for (3GB/32GB and the P9 Plus at €749 (US$854)"....
Why do you first show GBP and USD then literally in the next sentence show EUR and USD?
I know we can go and convert it ourselves, but, isnt that your job?
I tried connecting to 20 hosts on that website and not a single one would connect. So I call BS
MAkes me question how secure "FreePBX" actually is....
I see no issues...
I was expecting something much worse than adverts and links to shampoo and blonde models waving their hair.
Quote "See how Windows 7 peaks for five days, then dips? "
Actually, no, I cannot.
Because the X axis has no label!
"Our monthly look at desktop operating system market share has turned up something interesting: Windows 10 looks to be a hit at home but a laggard at work."
I'm surely not the only one here thats thinking "No Sh*t Sherlock"
"Project Fi, which offers [voice and data connectivity at $20 per month], [plus $10/GB for data]."????
Why must journalists write articles in this way, its like you are trying to confuse us for your own gain.
I'm not bad at poker but I know now that the dutch are very good at holding a poker face because I cant tell if this is a bluff or not.
....This story was published in 2016 by the reg, so surey its actually:
"New UK regulations come into force at the end of 2016"
"...If the latter then copyright infringement."
I must assume you are one of these pro-"sue anyone for anything" bods, probably American?
......the same issue over services they is said to be readying.
ye blud, is it cos i is....
Where is the link to the report?
Why the hell do people continue to bring children into poverty?
Oh yey, we've got no water, electricity, internet, heating - LETS HAVE A CHILD!
The best thing the 3rd world can do is as jezza would say "Put something on the end of it!" How about we fund THAT instead and then we can stop seeing these horrible ads on TV of starving children whilst I'm trying to eat my tea!
Downvote all you want, you know I'm right!
Stop it with your way of suing everyone every time there is an opportunity.
This crypto encrypting technology should NOT be owned by ANYONE - It works to secure the people of the internet. How can you sue a company for that?
In America you sue and get sued REGARDLESS of the outcome to any other parties, even if it means potentially RUINING another company because you lack the common sense needed to stop this turd like behaviour!
You all need your bloody heads looking at!
/thanks for the career advise.
I would make a fortune from you lot if I just sold tinfoil hats.
You're all over this with extremely little proof or anything solid to back up your concerns.
And whats more, is that the data the OS collects is because it requires it for services to work as has been stated my many others and not just in this forum.
If you dont like it then stop using it. Move onto something else, just stop flippin moaning.
You're like a bunch of CHRILDREN that are whining their poor arses off.
What would you do if your car started reporting back to its manufacturer its location every 5 minutes?
You would go mad!
BUT... What if it did this for a new service to send you an ambulance if it noticed you had been in a crash (detected by g sensors) but it had to go through your car manufacturer and not direct to the emergency service to ensure it wasnt being spoofed or for verification of the alert before wasting the ambulances time.
Think outside the box a bit more, there is such a thing as outside away from your pit.
Stuff it, If I get questioned, ill just say I raised the issue with the Reg to let everyone know why they might not be able to access the net!
We've been monitoring the DDoS attacks all over the world via http://www.digitalattackmap.com/#anim=1&color=0&country=ALL&list=0&time=16759&view=map and there was at one point 118gbps coming into the UK identified as DDoS from the Korea/Thialand areas
Did they account for video's watched on Facebook?
Im not sure how it works, but could the videos watched on Facebook only be seen as web traffic since its through only facebooks servers?
Why do I STILL see and hear "techies" saying they've turned something on then off again.
I really hope you turned that router back on before you left!
Just to remind everyone, you turn it OFF and THEN you turn it ON......got it?
Title does not represent content
what the hell is 21 shillings.
Why dont you just say, it would have cost £xxx amount on todays prices or based on inflation or something more reader friendly.
Im in danger of having more downvotes than upvotes from this, boo bloody hoo.
I mentioned this last week and just got a load of downvotes!
What the fuck is fiber?
Is that like fibre for yanks?
Oh wait sorry, I forgot this is now a US tech news site.
09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 is a block of code written in hexadecimal that has been discovered to be a way to decrypt HD-DVDs, allowing people to modify and alter the content stored on the DVD.
I miss my 2x voodoo 2 1000's in SLI just so I could get 1024x768 display.
Those were the days, ahh carmageddon
Best of luck getting the drum/tom sound out of your head ha
What I am getting at is this.
This is a UK based tech site and this is a story for for a Chinese drone, we have only been given one price, in US dollars.
My question, why?
Why do I read a UK site if I have to go off and convert the price to a UK amount?
I might as well go back to the uk-not-so-uk tomshardware.co.uk or whatever.
Oh the irony of my own post.... oops
Done you mean £409?????
Has this site become another casualty sold off to some shitty US firm?
I will give it max 3 days fro the launch before we hear:
*It fell over trying to go up/down a bad curb.
*It was stolen and taken apart, Johnny 5 no DISASSEMBLE!
*It was run over.
*IT ran out of power navigating a busy town and has been put "somewhere safe" by Joe public. In the mean time, these Skype bods, spend a week looking for it, to find its been put in the local corner shop for safe keeping.
*It gets ravaged by an angry dog.
Which is typical of journalism today.
I half expect the body to not remotely have anything to do with the headline on most occasions.
The world wide web is dieing of a horrible dirty disease called "Journalism"
Dont confuse this with "the internet" we learned in school the difference between the 2.
Waiiiit for it......
""We'd like to reassure customers that we take the security of your data very seriously. We constantly review and update our systems to make sure they're as secure as possible"
God Damnit James! This new selfie machine is incredible!
And this has exactly what to do with going to prison in the UK?
And a 15 minute call across your own country for $1.65 isnt exactly cheap compared to todays services is it, if you live in the UK...
Some of these reg articles are utter crap or not relatable to us UK netizens
Just want to give you a heads up that those 50 upvotes were from 40+ year old men who love nothing more than getting in their BMW, putting their shades on and putting that overplayed crowded house CD on full volume.
It is also a happy number, cant be too bad being prime and happy..
