Bloke sues Microsoft: Give me $600m – or my copy of Windows 7 back

WINDOWS IS THE WORST

Windows operating systems have been pure B.S since they stopped making Windows XP. XP did EVERYTHING I needed in a business machine and was simple to use.I still operate XP in my office,I just don't allow my XP machines on the internet because they're no longer supported.I was incensed when thousands of man hours of documents produced on the stock XP word processor were unreadable on Windows 7. What Microsoft has done is equal to my Mercedes dealer saying he will no longer service my 2008 SL that only has 35,000 miles on it because it's an older version that runs perfectly. I use a Windows 7 machine purely for online communications and nothing else. When they stop supporting Windows 7 I will either go with a Chrome OS machine or a Mac. I'm done with Microsoft.

Microsoft hits new low: Threatens to axe classic Paint from Windows 10

This is PRECISELY why my office still uses Windows XP computers that don't go on the internet.Microsoft keeps getting rid of things that are truly useful in order to get you to purchase new software or a new computer. XP does EVERYTHING I need in an office computer. For Microsoft to stop supporting OS's that still work is just as dumb as if my Mercedes dealer tells me he won't service my 2010 SL because it's 7 years old.Everything creative in my studio business is done on Macs.I only use a Windows 7 PC to upload our files. When they stop supporting 7,I'm going to a Chrome computer for internet communications.I'm done with Microsoft.

Facebook value hits $100bn, to go public in Q1 2012

BUY IT QUICK,SELL IT QUICK...

If you don't get in early and sell at a profit, this stock is going to be a hot potato.

Whoever holds it last will get burned. Facebook usage is already down in the U.S.

and Canada ,and it had to happen sooner or later. The closer Facebook gets to an I.P.O., the more they have to show profitability, and that means more ads, more spam, and more marketing of the info of Facebook members. That's why Myspace failed. People don't go on these sites to make purchases, and sooner or later the advertisers figure that out. People tend to forget that Facebook has the same income model as the newspapers: ADVERTISING. When the advertisers don't see a return on investment, Facebook will fail just like Myspace did. Be Honest...When was the last time you went to Facebook to make a purchase? I rest my case.

Now RIAA says copying your own CDs is illegal

NURREDIN

IT GOES DEEPER THAN WHAT YOU SEE

This is a direct (though not camouflaged very well) attack upon Apple and Itunes. If the RIAA wins, then it's illegal to copy a cd you purchased onto your Ipod. Which means you have to purchase the single or the cd online so you can put it on your Ipod. That means the RIAA regains the monopoly they held on production and distribution they've enjoyed for the last 80 or so years. It means we return to the days of being forced to buy entire mediocre cd's just to get the one or two songs we like on each cd.The RIAA went after internet radio because they played music that was not controlled by them, therefore diluting their market share. If all the music we hear is controlled by the RIAA, then they dictate what we see and hear, which is what is causing their demise in the first place. The RIAA want to be gatekeepers so they can control the airwaves, production and distribution. Until the Internet, there was no point in independent labels trying to compete because the RIAA controlled the airwaves and shelf space in the brick and mortar music stores. Now they can't control what we see and hear, thanks to sites like Youtube and Myspace.Any small label (or even an artist) with recording equipment and a small video budget can compete on the same level with the RIAA members, and that's what they're trying to stop. They didn't care if you made a copy for your car when they controlled production and distribution. Now, noone listens to the radio,MTV doesn't play videos, and we now see just how mediocre the A&R departments of the major labels are now that we can see and hear what they refuse to produce. They want to force us to listen to what they produce and only buy from them. There's a reason only 5% of major label releases turn a profit, it's because they don't know what the hell they're doing or what people want to listen to. The RIAA is dying, and I say good riddance to bad rubbish!
