Kiss of death for Adwords
I am a trademark owner and I pay Google for Adwords. Do I understand this correctly - anybody can now use my trademark in a Google ad regardless of what their site is peddling. Is that right?
Trademarks, hallmarks, standards, weights and measures all simplify and expedite commerce in the civilized world. Its hard to understand this decision by Google - I am sure they don't like policing trademarks but they are biting the hand that feeds them and turning Adwords into junk.
I mentioned the Louis Vuitton example to my wife and without missing a beat she said "Kiss of Death" - I looked at her and she added "for Google".
I wasted many hours trying to use an online backup service. They took my money even though it was supposed to be a free trial. My computer spent five days uploading data with no end in sight. File names were visible over the web - but when I went to open them - it claimed they hadn't actually been uploaded yet . Got my money back but I would like an honest description of what is on offer.
I'm happy to see ASA keep them honest - and yes I agree with Mozy its bad for the rest of them - once bitten twice shy. I'm not going to waste my time again in a hurry.
Portable Native Client - no need for Java and Flash?
As I understand it Java and Flash are proprietary. If Portable Native Client is opened up - like Android for instance - does that help eliminate proprietary but - at the moment almost indispensable - web components like Java and Flash.
Yes I am - glasses - no particular reason - I think I needed a photo with more pixels and that was to hand - Martin
Acorn grew into the new Intel
Surely Acorn spun out into ARM and ARM is the new Intel in this space
Am I missing something?
Why would anybody pay to watch video on a mobile phone?
I can understand why I might pay for mobile internet access - that gives me unlimited video entertainment and information - I just watched an interesting and amusing documentary on the banking system on my wirelessly connected laptop - but why would I pay to watch a rerun on a screen thats 4% of the area of my laptop?
