Was this the same EE network that collapsed last week??
Maybe a simpler solution,
If you have limited disk space, but are happy to spend on hardware, then the solutions is to have a box under the desk running a headless Linux configuration and then replace the keyboard, monitor and mouse with a laptop with windows running on it, and make sure that the laptop is good enough to run your games. If desk space is at too much of a premium move the laptop to somewhere else in the house with more space?
always go with as simple solution as possible, as if there is a problem with hardware you could loose both systems!
"I personally wouldn't want an IT Admin to have full device wipe capabilities over my own personal device."
This could be a useful feature, if you lost your phone (including a memory card) that may have embarrassing photos, or personal documents on it. You can then ask IT to wipe the device as a precaution. This can also be a function of an Exchange server with Andoid/iphones utilising activesync to connect to them via OWA.
Maybe they just need stop wasting money then and just go for a standard USB Micro B connector then!!
There is a fool proof way of telling a fake apple product from a genuine one.
Fake - you get a shock after you have purchased it
Genuine - you get the shock before you purchase it - you want WHAT for a simple charger!!
And what happens if Santa is not in the same location on both systems!!!
Please think of the little children!!
Isnt this nearly similar to the old adidas logo - which had 3 ovals - ok they are not solid but look very similar and are part of the fashion section of the patent
In an emergency, the phone companies prioritise emergency calls over their networks, so while Joe Public gets naff all, emergency services, important MPs, etc will get a normal service so they can get on with saving the world :D
Aren't O2 the olympic mobile provider
Is a government website setup to display who has a court injunction, why they have a court injunction and links to pages on the web where people have ingnored the injuntions. Else how am I to now if I should report a story on twitter or not ;)

So initiall people thought the world was flat, then they realised it was round. But science has just proved that it is just a blob flying around in space!!
I have not seen a keyboard looking like that since the BBC model B!!
You have to be good to sneak up on a car with a 360 degree camera and slash the tyres!!
You might have to cover the relevant bits due to the age of the playmobile girls!!
Surely he would just match the numbers on the side of the road to the numbers on his speedo?

Just wait till the PRS gets involved!! They will be wanting the royalties !!
I take it from now on that Jo Swinson will not be wearing any make up or doing her hair before any PR photos or public outings, as this would just be the old fashioned way of "airbrushing".
Troll icon because this is what she looks like without makeup on!!
I bet that the laser used on the light bulb uses more electricity than the bulb saves and therefore the whole process is a waste of time!
So we now need a replacement idea for SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) lamps - may be a thick blanket that you could put over your head!! But because it has medical properties you could now sell them for twice the price of a normal blanket - the same could be done with black out blinds!
Mines the one that does not let the sun shine through!!
IP Address would be useful, then we could block those mail servers directly!!!
So MS removes IE, keeping opera happy, but wait what will people use to download their browser of choice?
Yes they can use FTP, but wait that is bundle with windows as well, so then generic FTP software company pops up and whines, it will never end.
Maybe remove TCP/IP from windows to stop all the fuss!!
So when are we going to see monitor resolutions in 3d
1024x768x<distance from screen object appear> :D
Just pass me any coat, I have to get out of here quickly before the fanboys turn up
Why don't they just download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack?
Just in case there are any PICT employees reading the register instead of working on the problem here is the link to the free download:
Darn, maybe I should have rang them up as a contractor, and charged them millions, only to go over budget and taken as long as it take for the next version of office to come out!!
Mines the one with the software assurance license in my pocket
Please note the speed of th BIG FAT PIPE is "up to" 18,000 Megabit/s so you might not necessarily get that speed..
If you subscribe to the BIG FAT PIPE, this is a capped service, and is based on the amount of data that you download or upload via your BIG FAT PIPE access each month ("Usage Cap"), your usage must not exceed that Usage Cap each month. The current Usage cap for the BIG FAT PIPE is 100TB,
If you exceed your Usage Cap, your download speed will be reduced to 256Kbit/s for the rest of the month.
If, in subsequent months, your usage continues to exceed your Usage Cap, we will continue to contact you to ask you to reduce your usage immediately or you account will be terminated.
in this case £38 - walks away shaking head!!!!
Stop - cos he did!!
I have removed this malware from too many machines in the last month or so, ranging from home PC of friends and family, to corporate machines, that have corporate AV installed on them.
I find that Malwarebytes Antimalware (malwarebytes.org) program removes the program with out any problems. You dont need to buy anything (unless you want continuous protection - but I run it once a week to keep an eye on things)
I hope that this will help others in the fight against the crap that is out there
I want it on a shark ;)
Mines the one with a gold member sticking out of the pocket
I hope that the Insurance guy was up to date with his life insurance payments :D
As the 12a certificate has replaced the PG rating then it is up to him if he wants his under 12 daughter to see the film, if he thinks that it is to violent then that is his right as a parent and not as a MP to decide! Some parents will think that their child is adult enough to appreciate the film and still understand that crime is wrong and take their child to see the film, others wont, but both will get on with life.
Paris, cos she knows the difference between right and wrong
Perhaps that OFCOM actually use the percentage of total viewers who complain to decided if they are going to act.
4 viewers = 100% of the viewers for that show = OFCOM have to act.
I have to fill in multiple CRB documents, so I have one for the Cricket Team I captain, one for a school that I visit, one for a different school that I visit. I hope the new system covers all jobs/positions, rather than having multiple certificates.
How are they going to vet people, self certification of course !!!
And write the stuff on a wall and then put it in a big pyramid shaped bunker.
Their archives have lasted thousands of years and still readable!!
Mines the one with the hieroglyphs on the back.
Jamie, just because you rent a house does not mean no house insurance, it just means that you don't need buildings insurance. I hope that you have home contents insurance!! Else we might all pop round and try and nick your phone :)
I think the El Reg need to combine the eeePC girl and the Wii Ski game and post it on YouTube for all to see.
Mines the dirty old one with the binoculars
We have the camera and the laser sighting, but I think the following could be in the pipeline:-
Wireless, webcam (with Night vision), laser targeting, mobile (fire and move) missile launcher.
and maybe a redesign so it looks like this
I used to work at a Secondary School in Berkshire. We had technology specialist status, and we decided that it was always better to order directly rather than go with BECTA approved suppliers. As the BECTA suppliers always thought that schools are an easy target for making extra cash.
This included a MS schools agreement licensing, it always seemed better to go to the suppliers ourselves as it normally saved us between 10-30% in cost.
One of the biggest pains was the tesco "computers for schools", which always required you to get the computers/accessories from RM. This is a pain as the RM prices were comparable to buying a mac than a std HP machine, so we always ordered printers instead.
Why was the little red button not connected to the unfiltered side of the ups, so that the UPS would nicely shut down the servers. This would then allow the server to be turned on in the set sequence to get the system back up and running as quickly as possible.
But then again I have seen little red buttons more than electronically turn of the power, but actually cut through the power cable suppling the server room, but this was still on the unfiltered side of the ups.
