Whats the link to get street view to show?
I think they just mean that there is a paper trail for the donations, whereas that isnt so for the sources?
What's the Reg Reader approved ADSL supplier nowadays?
BeThere if you can get it gets the thumbs up all round
remember them? Will making calls to these numbers be free from payphones too ?
re: sony after-sales
Picked up a TZ in the departures on the way home from Japan last November. Bought an extended 2 year warranty from the Sony UK shop, but when I tried to register it online they said they only support European products. Girl on the phone even suggested I go back to Japan to get an extended warranty from there?!
(Anyone know how the hell I can extend this warranty from here?)
surely he should have just licensed it to them and made a load of money anway that he wouldnt normally have
glad i didtched bt
I am glad I ditched BT when I did.
I expected the telstra page to just have a big clock on it
Bank Of Scotland - PASS
Didnt even need to delete any cookies. As soon as I closed the Bank of Scotland tab, and then reopened it, I was logged out.
Non US folk
The link in the article takes you to a place to check for US/Canada/Latin America etc.
Cant find where to check my laptop (Purchased in Tokyo brought back to UK)
re: Apple TV
Not used one of those, but if its anything like the Netgear Eva8000 then it does everything these do, and much more.
if you're going to buy an alienware then getting the extra 3 year warranty is a must. I now have a £2000 brick. Lesson learnt the hard way!
While it worked it was great. I had a 17" m7700 which is a model of a few years ago - I must admit I bought it after reading a review of it on here.
gentoo portage up to date?
Ive just emerged the latest version of BIND from portage on my nameservers (9.4.2-P1) and restarted the service but im still getting:
(...co.uk) appears to have POOR source port randomness and GREAT transaction ID randomness
scan before load
my admuncher program i use to remove adverts grabs the page before the browser displays it. It then removes all code about banners, ads, popups, etc etc before it passes it to the browser to display.
Surely an antivirus program could be made to work the same way, and remove any virus / malicious code before passing it to the browser?
admuncher is still the best
admuncher is still the best Ive bought in recent years
gonna get one
sent back my original eee, but I think im gonna get one of these when they come out
i read it as 'flash mobes go bad' and thought it would be some IT story about phones running flash
sky with no subscription
how does this differ from getting a skybox with no subscription and watching all the FTA channels?
iplayer on the eva8000
Hopefully someone can come up with a way to get the iplayer to work on Netgears Eva8000 media player next
cant wait for one of these
had one of the original ones back in November but sent it back as it broke, ended up with a refund as they couldn'd find me a replacement. Picked up a 11" Vaio TZ in Japan in December which, although a whole different ball game to the eee, has been good. Problem is im scared to take it places my car might get broken into etc. So gonna get one of these new eee's.
add custom stations
does it let you add your own internet stations that might not be listed in their lists?
using just cc number and expiry
I know of payment machines that take a credit card that dont require any pin or any other type of authorisation.. so dumping the cc number and exp to a card and then using it in one of these types of machines could be one way to defraud ?
I had one of those
the MPMAN.. swapped it for my minidisk player in 6th year at school when some boy got it for xmas and didnt want it
signed up a while ago
got an invite to join the beta a while ago and installed the office add-on thing. Used it a couple of times to save documents from home for opening at work, and vice-versa, but I still find it simpler just to email myself a copy of anything like that I might need..I always forget to take my usb stick with me so end up doing this quite a lot. Your meant to be able to allow other people access to your 'space' so that many of you can work on documents simultaneously, but I havent tried that yet.
When the machine hibernates it dumps the contents of RAM to a file, so are these keys being saved to the disk if they were in memory at the time?
although its commercial software Admuncher is really good. Parses all the html before it gets displayed and removes all banners, adverts, popups etc etc a lot better than adblock, and also removes ads from messenger etc.
Think it cost me about a tenner, had it since 2002 and best bit of software ive bought in a while. I signed up for theyre partnership thing too.
RE: page down
Scott there is a page down button, instead of using the up and down arrows if you use the ones to the right of them, cant remember off hand now but it definately works!
Latest firmware version is 2.0.151 (Updated 12/31/2007)
Bricked my first eva8000 with a much earlier beta of the firmware last summer (amazon replaced that within 24 hrs - was impressed) but the newer versions of the firmware are a lot better, and include a much improved UI as well.
Still some minor quirks to be ironed out, but they are active on the support forums and have included a fair few of the users feature requests.
1080p mkv plays fine for me with the latest firmware over wired lan.
