Re: Pay it back
Some years ago as a French resident I called Surrey police to a Motorway road works on the M25. Basically I did this at the behest of the Highways agency.
Now a certain police officer turned up (Ex RHA, also known as the cowboys), sided with the road works people that had told me to Fcuk off. I suggested to him that if I did not then it was a case of fcuk if I did and also if I did not. He told me I was illegally parked, (not so I was inside the road working area), That there were other things as well.
Oh dear said police had to formally apologise to me, the road closure was illegal, the police officer did not know traffic law etc all forced on them by the Highways Agency who also wanted to know why the police had sanctioned an illegal road closure, illegal signs, unlawful behaviour, swearing at members of the public to name a few. I suggested that the "officer" and I do use the term loosely go on a man management course, also to go on the local schools cycle profficiency course to learn the highway code and retake part 1 of the driving test, the written bit!
So after that they let them loose on computers, are they mad. They have trouble with basic motorway rules, how the fcuk are they going to cope with the electronic highway!
is everything you read actually true?
Supposing, just supposing that this is a cover for hacking into the cables to monitor useage. This can be done without damage to said cables per se.
Frankly I am EXREMELY suspicious that further info is not forthcoming.
i am still using my student version, but still teaching, albeit now grandchildren. However, I am guessing that my next machine may not have windows office on it. Open Office has problems sure, but the current stupidity of windows is draconian an irresponsible.
Thought though, so I load MS Office onto a machines ssd, use that machine as solely having office on it and gain access by using it as a server for say the next 20 years does that mean that MS is OBLIGED to give service and so on.
That will mean all my computers can use it and so can others via the internet. Its only installed on one computer Mr MS policeman.
Gotta go door bell, Oh gosh its the MS police!!
Language
Question, how would the frnch govt know where the people came from, doesnt a VPN mean you are not where you think you are, me being English living in France use .uk for example and often use a VPN to watch TV so no way could they know whos what.
Perhaps just stopping all French language sites would be a good idea, then also they can stop the french people using English sites to buy stuff, I mean who would pay €250 for parts when you could get them quicker for about 1/3 of the price from the UK.
As most French have little idea of the internet then they could go back to minitel and just tell the French people its new and updated.
Can I back the bit about French people, oh yes, average virii on French computers about 6-7 max seen so far 300!! What about tea cosys money, I told the Gendarmerie about exactly that problem some 3 months before it happened, they did nought
french heresy
Mmm just a thought, 1/ many French jews were given to the nasties in the second world war, 2/ today many gestapo laws still stand, We are still not in Brittany, but in Pays de loire. 3/ What language was spoken in Morroco, oh yes frog, and they HATE the Yids.
Late breaking News, France declares war on all countries not liking Israel and speaking French or having French speakers!
Der! sounds like a load of rubbish, come on French gov stick to nicking motorists for not breathing correctly!
J'habite en France et je connait plus bien le situation en France.
Stupid rhetoric (possibly posted anon also!
Thing is IF the people had used a VPN then the French government could piss up the wall, further, its not just France that speaks French, nor is it the only language spoken in France. Frankly, like everything else the French government do they have no idea how the internet works, nor most things like that they infact are still under the impression that nothing else exists outside or other than France.
If I were the bosses of twitter then I would give the French government some addresses in say Vietnam, or Africa French speaking, or even some parts of South America.
Do remember that parts of the world still are against the yids.
Just suppose that the perpetrators "habite en faite en Iran". What are the French govt going to do then... Bomb Iran!
Stupid unenforceable rhetoric. Oh guess where I live, yep, France, do I speak French nah! why do I live here? Because its akin to the UK 50 years ago except for speed cameras. However we do not pay road tax!!
Re: @Chemist
The problem to me seems to be what is the speed of light related to. Take a space craft traveling at almost the speed of light. Should a person on that craft be for example be watching a video and the screen in the tail and the person in the nose, would the picture never get to the viewer, yet he could walk to the TV as the body is on the same mass as the TV. (effectively just being a movable particle) or would he see the TV as normal so meaning that the speed of the light from the TV is actually travelling at "almost" 2 x the speed of light relative, well to what. Certainly not earth, because thats already clanking along at silly speeds.
Re: very quick to assume he is wrong
Thing is is it wifi he is detecting, does not one load of digital signals sound like another in AM as that is all the body can detect!.
Just a thought
We are all to be extradited. Some are Jews all to Austria, some are females that object to having to bandage their heads, some are men, they have rejected the koran, some are politicians, they have denigrated Iran and its attitudes, some have just stated that the US is against their laws, shall I go on, are there any persons left.
Last one out turn out the light!
Oh yes!
Firstly, it seems that the US forces security system was / is so weak that a mentally ill and not highly intelligent person got into their system, and secondly, how can he be charged in the UK with anything that is not illegal in the UK. He has in fact committed no offense in the UK, there is no law that precludes him specifically from accessing accessible sites. If that were to be so, then we all would be guilty of accessing accessible sites!
The whole thing is stupid at the expense of the UK tax payers!
Now the UK needs to sue (the US) for costs.
Mmm OK a Livre de Fromage
For the dim wits that say use metric, well for information, I can buy a livre de fromage, about 500 gram here in France, many bolts of cloth are measured in feet or yards. A TV screen here is in puces. At the end of the day some things "fit" being marked in "inches" some in mm certainly my wife says I should lose a few pounds, that the ruddy ovens marked in centigrade have inexact temperatures, recipes never seem quite right in kilos, and then we come to vehicle tyres, oh yes for example 145x 16, yes very good so we have now on a motorcycle 90x90x19, it was a lot easier when it was all Imperial, so we had a 3.00x 19. What really gets me is going down the UK motorway, I have to brake like fcuk to get into a service center in 1 meter, then find its actually another 1k+
They need to put both on road signs, as all new motor bikes HAVE to have the speedo in kilometers. Tried working out how many miles to the gallon, or perhaps litres to the 100 kilometers.
You HAVE to have both, not just chains, nor hectares (they use them in France) etc but for clarity both.
Re: Freedom of speech v the law
I tell policeman for example that they are the vilest form of dog policeman and that they policeman animals, so that makes them policeman policeman policeman, ugh!!
So the next time you want to say fcuk it say policeman!
So you see its not in a policeman word that you policeman use, its what it was policeman intended for.
So the question has to policeman asked, what the policeman is the policeman limit.
Electric cars!
How many people will they kill, let alone animals, I was nearly hit by one, what was I doing, walking along a country lane with my dog, he never heard it, the new tyre law ensured that, it was raining, the wind was in our faces along with the rain, the car was coming around a bend behind us. The first we knew was a squeal of brakes. These type of vehicle should be made to emit a sound of some sort, or put noisier tyres on.
I have a 20 year old motorbike and when I go along kids look and see me, cats run out of the way. So how long is it before kids are killed!
Milk floats were OK they travelled at 12 MPH, 40MPH in one of these things...they are silent killers.
The next thing is a 10MPH limit, I cannot safely go as low as 20MPH on my bike continuously, my proper vehicle has to be in first to accelerate from 20MPH. So, is the whole world going to slow down for these dangerous vehicles. This IS a case for a man in front with a red flag!
All blind people are to stay indoors, or have a monitor, because the dogs for the blind will not hear them!
They are not economic, they are not green, they are not safe in with other traffic, those who remember trolley buses will remember the acceleration, 0-30 in no time, then little traffic, now!!!
read the thread
The salient part "We found six very large scale monitors, however all of them where using third-party hosting companies. Therefore we can't be sure who they really were, or if they where monitoring for legal or for marketing purposes."
They are just wasting (your) money.
Filters
Does that mean that the police will not now be able to go online looking at porn, or will they be contacting their ISP.
I guess of course that they could always use a VPN etc. Oh sorry, most are not as articulate on a computer as a computer literate teenager.
Oh come on these sort of filters stand about as much chance of working as a cheese mine on the moon!
Bacon!
The problem is getting bacon, I have actually contacted the trading standards people. Bacon is described as pork that is cured by smoking or other drying processes, nowhere does it say bunging loads of salty water into pork make it cured. So, technically Danish Bacon and the likes are not making bacon.
So these meats and salty water will NEVER make a nice crispy bacon sarny. At best they will leave a white milky residue in the frying pan, at worst cause the frying pan to spit out all over the hob top and shrink by about 50%.
Do remember YOU paid for that salty water, it costs a lot less than pork, but is sold to you at an inflated price.
I have a difficulty here in getting smoked back, but can always get portrine fume and gosh does it taste a lot better than shrivelled up chemically enlarged and flavoured DBC products.
I cannot see how or why the authorities accept that it is bacon, I guess the real bacon producers need to call their products real bacon!
All this is actually just a fraud.
I have laid evidence and proof to the home office that a certain Belkin modem can just be hooked onto the 2 wires going to a property, never mind hacking, just a filter, and a laptop and modem clipped on with croc clips and the authorities would think its the line customer. Belkin has also been notified!
What has happened so far, nothing, the guy supposedly hacked into the US government, all the copyright things.
Normally an access code and handshake protocol is needed, for example Orange may have fti/xxxxxx and wacth7y, however ANYTHING will handshake with this modem!
Any solicitor out theretake note!
Turn off not on standby, REALLY
Hi all, We had the lowest lamp consumption for many years using 2D stuff, now, slowly, we are going to LED, 12 volt from battery eventually, now the joke, it is not economically feasible to put switches in!!for 1 lamp it will take between 20 and 30 years to return the cost of electricity saved by turning off.
Computers, when on but not actually working ie the CPU is just sitting and the LED screen goes back the consumption is about 20W.
Oh yes what was I, had my own electrical business, taught, was EE for amongst others USAF.
silly gits who say turn off are VERY stupid as the surges cause serious problems, our machines are on UPS, we have mainly O/P central heating and our bills are some of the lowest around. A bread machine on its own cost more than a nightsorage radiator, it went in the bin.
So if someone says "Oh yes I unplug every nite" get them to show you their LED lamps, they cost about £15 each, have a life of about 100 years and running cost for 60w equivalent of between 1 and 3 w. Our old 2D's are/were about 16w.
Re: Disabled can buy insurance
You may own the insurance, however, you must give the name of the designated driver,AND it is on the insurance that you are not to drive and are not insured. It may even say that the vehicle may not be used if you are not in the vehicle!
Sorry to hear about the vision of your partner.
Re: So....
Like it, you are also making the asumption that the designer is actually thinking!
Its the same as road designers, they think they are the same as them, however, motorcycles and trucks use the roads, not to add things like emergency vehicles.
All designers should have to have their workes checked by an assortment of users BEFORE implementation. Departments of pensions, health, NHS please note!
Re: So....
I agree, however, having the eyes "zapped" as you put it may seriously affect your later life vision, to the extent that until you have lenses replaced for cataracts you may have severe visual difficulties.
As for the size difference, may I suggest that you talk to your optician about that. It may be that the near sighted vision is incorrect.
I have had glasses all my life and they never created problems, just saved my sight, a piece of metal thrown from a drill caught in my glasses, a chip from a saw hit the lense and chipped it and the number of times that I never got arc eye walking thru various factories. (all glasses reflect too much light of the damaging spectrum of arc welding).
I now have had a trabotomy and have had cataract operations, now if I had not worn glasses these problems (may) never have been picked up. My mother went blind due to that and my uncle had lost his sight by 65. Incidentally they both were disabled, it is the amount of disability, not the actual totality.
I am disabled due to a back injury and a fire accident, I ride a m/c, and have an HGV but cannot ride a bicycle for more than 20 yds and on wet days cannot walk!
Re: So....
You are obviously not aware that many do not have a board around thier necks saying Disabled, reason incontinence, or Disabled in wet weather due to extreme pain.
You also have to realise that many elderly people also have vision problems, problems walking too far, and even mental problems.
I would actually guess that the number mentioned is probably too low. many disabled also hold down jobs, fail to notify their problem to the disabled authorities and so on.
For example, my daughters other half is about 45, autistic, and terrified about certain things, like breaking down or getting lost.
He gets all the correct stuff but is not registered as disabled. Do not you think he is disabled.
Disabled:- to be in a state whereby lack of ability reduces or stops the ability to do things acheived by the average person.
Re: What???!!!
What you have to consider is that many are also unable to get to a rail station, cannot easily get to bus routes and finally also have reduced incomes. Trouble is that the disabled thing is not standard across the EU, the various counties or even local councils. This situation needs internationally (EU) sorting out and with some alacrity.
Understand?
The reason why many are still on various financial support can be easily explained, the paperwork is horrendous.
My doctor told me that if I was having problems with the paper work, then god help the rest, I helped him fill in a document. He had to change his way to the center to evaluate disabled people.
The reason, well if he went by car direct to the center he got 2.5p per mile, however, if he drove 25 mile to a rail station, paid for parking and ticket, caught a taxi at the city end he got all paid for and 30p a mile.
Guess what he did after I explained it!!!
Re: Not so easy
Do not believe it, a lot is deliberately done to preclude certain users.
For example, most insurers state holds or has held a UK licence, so that SHOULD mean that a holder of a Belgium reciprocal licence with a UK licence number will be accepted, Oh no it does not, you will get an automatic illegal refusal!
They are not the only ones, foreign EU licence holders are also not allowed. I have just finished a 2 years "discussion" with the DVLA about that and they have agreed that foreign EU licence holders do not need to exchange their licences, however (virtually) all insurers refuse these licences.
I have been to the FSA about this and informed them that all the while they accept these insurance companies that not only are the aforesaid insurance companies breaking the law but so are the FSA by allowing this state of affairs to continue.
The problem is also exacerbated by the fact that the DVLA say that foreign insurers are not allowed, now that is in contravention of EU law that states that items, and services can be obtained freely in any member state.
You have to remember that all these type organisations do not want to read anything that they do not agree with!
So for example would not it be interesting if a disabled person were to insure his car say in Belgium with say aviva.
That company has told me by English Branch the insurance is not valid but by the Begium office, yes they would.
I use, and have put on others a "OpenDNS route that means that you can easily block anything, it also helps reduce virii. Many ordinary ISP's are actually riddled with viri or little twits doing stupid things, so to use something like OpenDNS is a triple bonus. Oh, triple, yes it also means that your ISP does not know what you are doing.
Re: You can take it with you...
True, however, what are they going to do blow your brains out, at the end of the day if they make you unemployed thru no fault of yours then sorry they have thrown away any right to integrity.
Now if I leave thru my decision then I would help them in hours of need after I left, I have done that, several times.
If I that dispensible then what I know stays with me, they are employing me, NOT buying my brain.
Maybe, but this is how to do it. I was a techy for a company and designed a very complex system to run machines. I programmed in a Christmas day code and some 8 months after I left Christmas came along. Everything stopped, never to be run automatically again. There was no body there, nor the manufacturers of the controller that knew exactly how I had designed the program, worse (for them) the whole time the machines were running we were running updates and fine tuning the system, we even had the manufacturers come down to see how I had used the machine, as they wanted to do the same for a car manufacturer.
It had taken me several years to get where the system had got, and to add to their woes, I swapped the "timer" control with the "counter" so every time they tried to access the system they cahnged timers to counters as they got to them.
Ha ha ha, they ended up moving, closing down and then there was none.
Sheep
Oh so the UK and the US fall into those categories.
Religious
Huh this means that those who object to me saying things like the Koran is a book inciting violence and that most rag hats are out to kill christians is offensive. Well I am afraid that much of their rubbish is offensive to me so please can we block things relating to rag hat stuff on You tube and so on. Better yet just shut them from the internet for a week or three. With no server access then let them see how they cope.
Lets blow up all mosques, there lets see if they want that stopped. In fact, lets go one step further, stop all rag hat passports, make rag hat wearing and sympathising punishable by stoning (EXACTLY the same as the Koran asks that people who convert to Christianity are dealt with) All that stuff is offensive to me so MS, Yahoo, facebook and the like we want all that stuff removed from your sites.
Names
I am actually intrigued by the so called names, Weeting, Elveden, places close together in Norfolk. This police force also has been / should be investigated for .......
So why ARE they named after these villages, they are also not so far from Soham, nor Bury St Edmunds where filth was found on a police computer.
The intrigue thickens.
Box of trix
So, lets establish the situation, :- me driving in the nearside lane on and empty motorway at 95 Mph, other person
they are driving on a busy motorway at 50 and stop in the middle lane to read a road sign-
Oh yes seems like thats good, I will loose out,
So again busy road junction, I am in the offside lane and lights turn green and I zip it quickly across the junction , the other oh yes not paying attention, light turns green and he does not move, car behind bips him, he moves forward slowly as he is in the wrong gear and consequently does not clear the junction before the lights are red, car behind involved in smash and gets done for jumping lights which he was not, just held up by twit. And so on.
The ONLY way is by cameras recording all and being able to store information that way.
The fact I zip it away from lights, like to power around corners, get to max speed asap and so on I will get clobbered, poodle around causing accidents, thats OK.
Isn't it funny
I only hope that certain people read these posts. I was emailing the head of the football channel, you know, the one that has corrie on at various times, about stopping the bill. Well now with so many repeats on repeats I might as get my old VCR out and watch that. Oh hang on they are better because the repeats they show now were rubbish in the first place. Give me "get some in" or "Fresh fields"
The problem showing cr4p is that when you do go to the computer then you do not go back to the TV.
Wake up TV broadcasters.
I am turning an old XP computer into a good PVR, luverly, no adverts, if rubbish comes on we can run an old series.
Too deep
thing is that frankly after a day you want to relax, not get wound up into something deep to go to bed on.
Ad blocking
Funny you say about the volumme but it might be counter productive. If you use a computer as a PVR then just program a noise limiter in that cuts out the sound for a few minutes, or even swops to music until a change of advert or signal sense.
That is one of the reasons I am turning my old computer into a PVR.
Wont advertisers and stations that ramp up sound like that. Its easy to do to old TV,s just put a small audio limiter in the speaker wires.
Speed of light
This has always bugged me, if a unit is travelling at say 700 miles per hour and fires a bullet, then the speed is 1,400 MPH, the same thing if you are travelling at the speed of light and fire a rocket again in the direction of travel then surely the rocket will be travelling at more than the spped of light, however, relative to what?
I asked my physics master that some 50 years ago and he could not answer it. If a space ship at speed of light transmits a radio message, is the message standing still as perceived from behind and travelling at 2 times the speed of light in front.
Surely the speed is relative to the item that it is related to, otherwise me and my car can be "done" for 30,000mph as the whole earth is travelling at that speed.
So are we looking at 2 things separatley but together.
If the neutron was fired at the speed of light from something travelling at the speed of light then in relationship to the original source its 2x the speed.
No one has denied nor confirmed this, if it is not so then jet planes that broke the sound barrier and having machine guns would have shot themeselves down as the bullet would be going backwards relative to the plane, but they were not, they were travelling at mac1.5.
Glaucoma
This effect was known long ago with silly sods that climbed mountains. There is too much pressure in the eye balls which in turn damages the optic nerve. I guess the answer is to give all astronauts a trabotomy to reduce this pressure.
Apparently under 20 is OK but for a person going up ito space it needs to be a lot lower.
As one gets older it tends to go up so giving a regular eye pressure test should keep the situation under control and drugs can be used if the situation is temporary.
What seems to have been missed by many of the readers is that being of a higher frequency it will get bounced around by buildings people who lived near the railway at Bury st Edmunds can confirm that with being able to count train carriages on their TV by signal ghosting, also there is the fact that as the range is less there will have to be more relays which will not happen in the country, the drop of is sharp, one minute good signal pass a tree and you have lost it, but the best of all, the REALLY good bit:- well the system used by the UK is actually dead in the water as a more recent and better system has been adopted by the rest of the world.
I guess that you could say the UK has invented a squre wheel.
The audio will be manure as to compress it into digital is bad enough, however the station buys a frequency so can put 1, 2, 3 or even more stations on it. The more you put on it the more advertising you can sell and oh yes the more degraded the system.
If you have bought DAB then you are rich, have too much money, or live in cuckoo land.
If you really want digital then get it from Free sat or Sky, as its not fit for purpose mobile make sure your car does not have it.
Incidentally if you are getting a new car specify it with an SD card reader, not a disc. If they cannot then without, as a radio FM and SD card reader is a LOT cheaper than a disc.
Copyright. Huh
OK so I make a tune and someone buys it and copies it thats copyright theft.
I make a cabinet in wood, someone PHOTOGRAPHS it, not even bought it and thats OK.
I wire a house and do something a bit novel and someone visits the house and copies it, thats OK. Why is it that only things done by so called artists get copy right whilst the people that work get zilch...
Oh its just clicked, I get very little for my long hours and graft, people that would not know work if they fell over it want to keep getting paid over and over.
Well I want to be paid a copyright for the street lighting at Chalfont St Peters Roundabout on the A413. It was my idea so everybody thats used it needs to pay me copyright of say 1/- everytime they pass it!!! Any body that modifies it is also breaking copyright including the drunk idiot that smashed into it with his Hillman Imp on the first nite I switched it on. (circa 1968)
Roll on limewire stuff copyright and stop taking the michael. Use a IP hiding system and also OpenDNS.
Contacts
Firstly using an Ip hide will stop the tracking and the actual "looking at" what you are doing, secondly, Wifi is not as widely used in Libya as say the UK, London in particular, and thirdly, the only way to really block these type of sites is to shut down the world. It does seem to me that certain people that are supposedly in power lead extremely sheltered lives. Just imagine, Facebook, yahoo messenger, Skype all being monitored and then shut down.
So for example a person appearing to be say in Malaya, but actually in France stimulating malicious unrest in Toxteth stands no chance of being traced as on top of that they were using a McDo wifi.
If one is stupid enough to do something like that and use ones own home phone and "tag" then they need locking up for their own safety.
I am guessing that somewhere there is actually one person that told the supercillious twits that they stand more chance of shutting the moon down to stop those that suffer from moon effects and going beserk every month on a full moon!!!
On the subject of setting petrol on fire with a mobile phone, oh dear you have been reading too many filling station and hospital signs.
I have a radio in my vehicle that transmits so much power that at 100m the watts received is probably 100x that of the mobile phone at 10mm.
The effect of my radio on say hospital stuff or gas stations is nil at 20m.
The only adverse effect of using the mobile is that you were probably using it when you lost control and thats why you have it in your hand! If the car was upside down in any case the vehicle would act as a cage and block all signals anyway.
MMMm
So lets get this right, using a hide IP address and thru a proxy server that means that the BT march off to say Malaya and stonk a block yeah get real. All this sort of thing is purely for non technical legal nits. Lets face it with so many free Proxy servers one can go anywhere.
Lets us suggest that UK law is so all over the world, UK police act throughout the world. How stupid.
MS stuff
The edict is too late really, I have seen computers that have office premium on them, updated to windows 7 and all they are doing is log in patients or something equally mundane. I have seen machines that only have MS 7 and word on them thats it but the Office version is a legal copy of Office proffesional latest and they have had everything but word deleted and they have 7 Ultimate with 90% of it deleted.
These machines would have worked quite well with basic windows with open office, now that alone would have saved over £200.
We have the same here in France, a department had a new computer of i5 and all it had was basically the minimum to operate word. Both programs again the top version.
Some years ago I was called to an RAF med center and saw a Radio Transmitter on the wall. Being into radio asked why they had it and was informed to contact the ambulances and the whole lot £30,000. I gulped and suggested the informant look into my beat up Sherpa van.
He came back white He said the radio cost £5000 each and what was I doing with one in my van. When I told him that the whole shebang he had I could have installed for under £5000 there was an inquiry which was hushed up.
This sort of thing goes on everyday, the Govt need a central procurement agency, sure the local department needs to propose the supplier, but at least then a sensible costing structure can be assured.
On phone
These people ring from places like Africa etc. I enjoy chasing them and one went back to an internet cafe in Africa.
I spoke to the owner and told him that we are fraud chasers and that his shop was being used for internet fraud. I gave him some details and he found the culprit, I could hear a VERY heated conversation. I said the best thing he could do was hand the police his details and let them contact ( a certain authority) to ascertain.
Another was in the Yahoo offices in the US and no not Calif, another in a company in Austria.
Its good fun, especially as nearly all the machines here in France have these problems as the operatives are so naive!!!
Being on the phone costs nought we can be on the phone with Skype all day for nought extra.
ISP's
Funny you should say that, I know that here in France if you are stupid enough to put the ISP's disc in your computer then you give for example France Telecom the "opportunity" to scan your computer. Dont believe it? OK when I complained about the problems with the internet the engineer turned up up with my FT infor, my email address entry password etc. I have and never will use an ISP offered email system I also use a proprietry modem, not FT's, and go thru OpenDNS.
I discovered that FT spent a lot of time trying to hack into my system. How did I know, suddenly my routing went from local routing straight to Rennes and then to the UK. What is at Rennes, oh yes the IT people. My daughter wh0 lives next door did not have it. Then I started getting attemped flood attacks, where form, oh yes FT Rennes. They know I know, I sent them an e "offereing" a little targetted virus, it all stopped. Coincidence, huh, so you think it came from where?
France
Hmmm I can see France adopting THAT, oh well now ALL ISP's need to realize that a IP hide facility is going to bring thems that do go that way loads of business. As it is I use OpenDNS which France Telecom cannot see the input and when local people in the Netherlands realise tat they can get a few quid a year that is untraceable for allowing someone to use a virtual server in their country the authorities here in France and other places, may realise lost revenue to be taxed AND total loss of internet control.
same here
Our costs seem comparable with yours except we get more sun hence more leccy, and more money. We have probably half yours and in 3 months this year we are up to about 300kw, good innit.
DIY
Well yes, but put up the minimum you can and then increase the number and put them in. Most controllers deal with 2 banks so you will not even have to modify the original wiring. As for costings, we here in France get 40% of the cost returned and get 6x the cost per unit of leccy sell price so its a good investment.
Solar panels
we have a similar system here in France, good, innit, we get 6x the cost of each unit back, we get 40% of the installation cost back after 1 year and we have a midday (now obsolete but cannot be taken away) off peak boost at about 5p a unit.
Effectively we will not pay for leccy for at least 20 years for an outlay of €12,000 and get back about €5000. Now that money is better off on my roof than in the bank.
You have a choice!!!! Well you dont if you have no money, so the really poor pay again.
Certainly a good inflation hedge though and its g'teed for 20 years. Basically we will get an inflation related amount back but take this year about €1,000 Bank interest a lot less and not inflation rated.
OpenDNS
Hi so what happens if you use OpenDNS, I am under the impression that your ISP cannot read the info as it is like a pipe, very much the same as using a system that allows you to use your home computer whilst away.
Again the ISP's do not have the ability to "read" your stuff as its is encrypted. Does China just shut that down?
