Oh and $4m a month?! That's a whole-lotta smut!

Sorry I'd say four years for killing someone is quite reasonable, the mere fact that the guy has refused to attend court after killing someone shows to me and no doubt the judge that he has little regard for the life his mistake took away.
The lad on the A14 'fessed up to it (although with a fractured spine he probably wasn't in a position to argue) and could be put down to him genuinely panicking given the circumstances (I've had a bonnet catch let go on the M25 and I can assure you it definitely qualifies as a brown-trouser moment).
Given that nobody died in the later of the two incidents and that the accused actually bothered to turn up for the trial I think the punishment that he got was appropriate.
Perhaps the anonymous poster is a little too keen to jump on the race bandwagon and is therefore blinkered to any other facts which may have swayed the judge/jury.
For f**k sake how hard is it for these people to understand that storing confidental data on laptops is an accident waiting to happen.
CIO's of these companies should be dragged to the nearest field and shot repeatedly until the message finally gets through to everyone who does this.
You wouldn't leave a full copy of your own credit history sitting in the boot (sorry trunk for our US readers) of your car so why is it ok to do it with your employees or customers data?
Cupid Stunts.
"Setting fire to local politicians might be viewed as a public service in some quarters, the problem is that they are 70% water and difficult to light"
Oh I don't know, with the right amount of accelerant I’m sure they’d be popping away like a Glaswegian "terrorist". Worth a go eh? ;)
Got a T42 which has been a very faithful servant ever since I got it two and a half years ago, it’s been used and abused in data centers all over the UK and hasn’t *touches wooden surface* crapped on me once. In fact I’ve only rebuilt it once during that time and that was as a result of its MS bloatware O/S slowing to a crawl, once rebuilt its back to its good old self and to be honest I can’t see me replacing this until it dies.
Granted its not the prettiest or lightest laptop on the market but for reliability I wouldn’t even consider another manufacturer, I just hope Lenovo don’t turn the brand to crap ala Compaq/HP.
"The unnamed victim, reportedly an active church musician and enjoying "religious music" at the time of the incident"
Obviously the big man "upstairs" wasn't too impressed with his efforts! Although speaking as a devout atheist I suspect it was more to do with the idiot standing under a tree in a thunderstorm which contributed to this guys downfall.
..but how the fuck do you shag a cow?
The guy must either of been 8 foot tall or brought a couple of milk crates to stand on!
The perp can count himself lucky 2 tonne of very raw bovine meat didn't decide to sit on him, hell that would have to rank fairly high up the Darwin Award list!
"This government is determined that Scotland can and will do better. The policies we put in place with the powers of devolution will improve our performance, and with the fuller powers of independence we can give Scotland a clear competitive edge in achieving our overarching aim of strong, sustainable economic growth."
Best they start off by outlawing deep fried Mars Bars and dramatically increasing the tax on a four pack of Tennants then...
Serves the wanker right, astounds me that people think they can go to another country purely to get bladdered and cause mayhem and expect the locals to accept it.
And then to top it off act as if their the innocent party when they get nicked and have to play hide the soap in the local gaol for a couple of months.
No doubt they'll be a quote from Mummy somewhere about how he's a good boy and 'never done anything like this before' etc etc.
Curious coincidence that this article has been posted today…
Just migrated one of our customers from Nildram/Pipex to Zen as they have been unable to get more that 64k/sec on their circuit SINCE the 3rd May so I’d be interested to hear from anyone else who seems to have been caught up in an unofficial trial.
Nildram tech support have been nothing short of useless in attempting to resolve this issue blaming everything from a faulty router/microfilter to a dodgy line card in the DSLAM, in the end the client got so frustrated they provisioned a new analogue line and got a new circuit. Which surprise surprise is getting 8MB/sec which the same equipment that Nildram said was faulty.
And our client? A large firm of solicitors, guess which article I’ll be forwarding them…
I think this is an absolute disgrace; not only are they applying this to all their customers, business and home users alike but it would seem that it affects every protocol, not just P2P apps etc.
I would have just stuck one on the annoying t**t (The Scientology guy not John Sweeney) and had done with it.
I'm sure given the context of the whole program more people will be sympathising with John than the Scientologists by the end of the program.
Still I think its a style of questioning Paxman should adopt in the future "MR BROWN WILL YOU LISTEN TO ME!!!!"
