not worth the head aches

Ask E-bay if they want to buy the place.. cheap.. close shop and retire. Lawyers are running of clients to chase, so they're creating work going after want adds. There's irony in there somewhere, but I can't be arsed to find it. ;-p

I'll buy one...

...when an electric does what my current vehicle does. That is travels for 300 miles with a top speed of 130mph, 0-60 time of aprox 9 sec, with the radio, AC, and headlights burning, and I can spend £20 and 10 minutes to fill it back up.

THAT is what the industry should be working towards (or better).

coincidence?

"In a March interview (audio) with Federal News Radio ... There are very few things that could actually rock the United States, destabilize the country, and a big bioterrorist attack...or an epidemic such as a pandemic flu episode ..."

A month later swine flu just "happens" to appear on the scene and is hyped as an epidemic.. no strike that.. pandemic!

damage on the nose

At the very tail end of the video you hear the radio conversation and the reason the had spun it nose first was to examine the damage on the nose. then they spun it 'round and boarded it aft first. :)

awkward?

I'm sure i won't be the only one to point this out, but won't it be a little awkward to type with one finger of one hand stuck in a USB port?

John

Where'd he get it from?

Title says who they should be going after. Unless he nabbed the studio recordings himself (he may have, i don't know if he works at the studio or not), then he got them from someone on the inside. Stop the infringement at the source, not the end.

sport?

Needs a rear spoiler, then yoofs might actually buy it. Make it customizable like Scion did with it's line, and they will fly (silently albeit) off the lots. ;-)

so it's a golf cart

"There's nothing new on the technical front, so buyers will still be getting a front-wheel drive vehicle with a 8.95kW (12bhp) electric motor, a range of 30 miles and a top speed of 25mph,"

Sounds like a golf cart.. $12k is a bit steep even for an enclosed cabin links cruiser. Guess Chrysler really needs the money though. :p

transparent aluminum?

Maybe they could talk to they Austrian blokes and see if their basalt-fibre whatsits can do the trick?

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/01/22/edag_light_car_geneva/

"...while similar in usage to carbon fibre and fibreglass, it's tougher than the latter and cheaper than the former. It is also fully recyclable and has a specific tenacity three times that of steel. At least that's what is says here.

The basalt-fibre body panels will apparently be transparent giving the car the appearance of being made of glass..."

marketing spin

What they don't tell you is how they get that 150-200 miles from the 10 minute charge. It's all theoretical, really. They just need a long straight road and a couple minutes of juice. It can coast the other 145-195 miles. ;)

poisoned search results

I was getting that when clicking links from search results on both google and yahoo yesterday. Manually pasting the url from the search results into the address field did not generate the WinAntivirus browser-trasformation-into-a-dialog, but clicking the link did.

MSN searches were clean, but pants for results. :-p

tell the thieves?

"I would like car owners to ensure that their vehicle and its contents are secure as well as making thieves aware that this type of crime will not be tolerated..."

Not sure how i would go about making thieves aware of this. Possibly stop random people on the street and inform them that it's a lie that a chip in a dodge car radio can get you free satellite. Just on the off chance they might be a thief? Oh well guess that method has worked well for the MAFIAA and their movies... ;)

WTF? So I guess clubbing baby seals in Warcraft should have gotten that game banned to? Whatever. It's a game. If some sicko is disappointed that a game DIDN'T give him some kiddie porn when he clicked a spoof link in a fake in-game browser in a game that isn't about surfing the internet... then f*ck em. :)

Salesmen can be brash

Oh those silly sales people. Going out and trying to strong arm sales for their company. Telling vendors that if they sell any of the competitions' kit they won't be their friend any more.

'Course that's about the same as giving away a million of your product. Different sales techniques for different folks I reckon. :)

Pay by the MB?

I wonder why an ISP hasn't come about that bills like other service companies do, based on usage. My electric and water bills vary every month depending upon how much i run the lights and shower.

Selling off users privacy to make up for a shoddy business model is unacceptable.

turboprops

The newspaper articles were assuming that turboprop aircraft wouldn't be able to go above the anti-aircraft defenses. The B-17 had/has a ceiling of about 35k ft, so would take some AA with considerable thrust to catch them up.

"If you've got lots of ram, then you've got to have it. If you want to run Windoze apps and you want to use your fancy 64bit cpu to the fullest, then you've got to have it. Let's all be honest about it....."

I guess you're referring to Vista 64bit and not the run-of-the-mill Vista versions that are only 32bit. I have XP 64bit, so i have no need for Vista, 32bit or 64bit. :)
