I dunno, I checked the critic reviews from websites that actually specialise in strategy games and most mention the things that the user reviews complain about, the lack of info on your units, the pared down commanders, and the annoying grind to unlock bonuses (and the Russians playing too much like the Americans in CoH). I would hardly call that anti-Russian propaganda.

I wouldn't exactly call Java a first class citizen on anything but Windows and Solaris. You mentioned your issues on OSX and Oracle won't let the Linux distros (except Oracle Linux, of course) redistribute the official Java binaries anymore, so they all provide the OpenJDK now. It probably works better anyway (and supports BSD) and most were providing it by default anyway, but it does smack of an attempt to force companies toward using Oracle Linux.

I think what he means is quite often the only recourse a small inventor has when faced with a large company infringing one of his patents is to licence or sell it to a third party with the funds and will to sue. Unfortunately at the moment, those are mainly patent trolls.

Dunno, if you like open world sandbox games, maybe? It's about as far from Halo as computer gaming gets. Although with mods you can play it as an FPS, or an RPG. Or you can just stay in Creative Mode and build stuff.
