Hackers have been filling the gap for a while...
There are various twitterbots around e.g. http://twitter.com/UK_M5_Traffic, that have been helping to fill this gap for a while.
Now that some twitter users have got text messaging back, it will even send out text messages with the info.
And the problem with their advice is?
Call me paranoid but I don't give used hard drives, I take them apart, and dispose of them in the local metal recycling bins.
Reconstructing them is beyond the means of most people, sure if the spooks want to get the data off they will but if the spooks are interested in what I'm doing then I've got bigger problems!
Disklabs just appear to be protecting their market.
I actually worked for Becta for a while
If you ever need an organisation that's a waste of our tax money, Becta is a fine example.
The leadership there is far to concerned with being politically connected and the appearance of being important rather than improving the outcomes in school.
Time to close it and save our tax money...
Looks like they don't understand PO Boxes...
If someone want's to know the address behind a PO Box you only have to ask Royal Mail!
What I want to know is in an era of nearly ubiquitous broadband, why do we still have regional broadband consortia.. surly once their job was done they should have been dismantled...
Was thinner and lighter...
Can't we just stop paying farmers
Why should we keep giving them subsidies then we'd have a double bonus, save the money we pay to farmers and close down the RPA and save the money it costs to run them too...
Not all houses are well insulated...
"Tend to want proof of these figures. Surely after all this time most houses are insulated as much as they reasonably can be. After all, at one time one could get grants for loft and cavity wall insulation. A quarter of ALL the UK's carbon emissions? I'd be skeptical."
I've recently bought a Victorian cottage and it has no insulation in the roof...
It's also got now felt under the tiles, so as that needs fixing we're going to add insulation too - currently we're sleeping under two duvets!
The BBC is the only channel that doesn't produce tosh?
The BBC produces plenty of crap, it's supposed to be focused on stuff other channels don't do, why do we have crap like Eastenders and huge salaries to Ross, Norton, newscasters etc?
But they can't cancel it!
