well i can tell you that you're wrong about that..

some people have enough morals to know and choose what is right, and some even understand that greed is a bad thing.

you may think that i'm only saying that as a justification for not having megabucks, or just plain misconstrued self-rightiousness, but you would not be correct about that either.

since this equipment is far from being common, it's possible that it was never intended to be re-sold or re-used, but just disposed of, to screw BT over. seems to me that BT have been asking for it with their actions which are clearly unethical, and that they've gotten away with it.

a tale of financial loss

seems to me that this would be the most ideal way to cover up a very large budget scientific project gone totally wrong...

or indeed to steal the money that was supposed to have been spent on the 'devices' in that rocket, then put a bunch of scrap in the rocket and have it blow up on or shortly after takeoff.... then claim insurance too ;)

yes, i'll tell you exactly what is going on here in plain simple terms...

which so far hasn't gone down very well at all with us 'common people'..

so it would seem to me that this technology is being evaluated and developed as a potential alternative to rfid implants for tracking your every movement..

soon as it's working well we can expect that our CCTV systems will be 'upgraded' and 'expanded' to have the capability to recognise who you are and thereby track your every move..

never forget that if you have any opinion that is in disagreement with anything the govermnet say or do, then YOU are the enemy. it is YOU the gvt is scared of and needs to control.

it's not the information

that is 'evil'. There is not ANY information that is evil. it is the things that some people do that is evil.

information and learning is always beneficial to better understand things. to progress and move forward/evolve. this is a basic principle called EDUCATION.

stopping anyone from learning anything is not going to prevent some people from doing evil things if they choose to.

I expect any school to require to get (written/signed) permission from any parent or legal guardian of a minor, PRIOR to 'taking their fingerprints' or expecting to make use of biometric systems to 'identify' the child.

And i will expressly DENY permission to do this to any child of mine.

My opinion is that when the child becomes an adult, then they can make this decision weather or not to volunteer their biometrics, and until such a time such things should not be forced apon them, as this could potentially impact the rest of their lives and put their 'personal details/information' at risk of loss/theft.

vista is rubbish

i have been using/testing Vista for like 12 months or so on my primary laptop (with decent specs/resources), and i absolutely HATE it.

moreover, i will not advocate or support it's use in our corporate environment

(just mine has been headache enough thanks!)

like most comments here regarding Vista mine are all negative.

besides being terribly slow (in comparison to XP), having many networking related issues, and dodgy drivers and much less compatable software (that actually works correctly on Vista)..

what's up with the HUGE DELAYS in vista when doing many things like 'new email in outlook' or clicking on the drop-down on the IE address bar, or copying any file, or copy/paste plain unformatted text??

it's as if the stupid thing won't let me do what i need until it has covertly been able to connect to MS servers to tell them about these actions first...

..click on usual button/function, see the 'wait' cursor.. go off to put kettle on..

this is the usual MO with using Vista. it is totally slow, untrustworthy and unreliable and MS should discontinue it altogether. what would we do then.?. simple keep using XP which works well.

i am very used to various OS behaviours and Vista's is very very suspicious as well as just plain painful.

i usually have to revert to using my much older XP machine to get things done efficiently and without running into holdups or issues.

well, if this 'full oyster access' request, and it's 'proposed' use is so secret, on the basis of "national security"..

then to me it means that we, the citizens of the UK, must be the percieved 'security threat'.

ask yourself why it is that in our 2008 national security budget has the highest percentage of investment in monitoring (and controlling) 'social networking' (all terrorists obviously..), than any other 'threat' area.

seems to me that this may very well be much more than 'fake' kit.
