A fitting eulogy...
The Series 3 and 5 should have been on the list, both beautiful pieces of miniature kit (with usable keyboards)
Re: It shouldn't be patentable....
I've had it on my toilet door for a lot longer...
This man is quickly becoming very irrelevant; I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't change his name to "Roger"
Re: TicketMaster "Ticketfast" Charges
I just stopped going to concerts unless I can buy tickets at the door. I refuse to give TicketBastard anymore of my money.
Re: Germ warfare
also check out the Tuskagee Syphilis trials
Re: Similar effect
Actually, I don't think my power affects the computer at all- it just stops the user from doing the stupid thing they've been doing up to now and do it properly for once. Then you get the "oh, it's working now..."
Translation from BS to normal speech...
"Nokia is focusing on growing its presence in operator and third-party retail outlets, rather than through our own physical stores. We are, of course, also continuously beefing up our online presence."
Translation: "We fail"
There used to be a decent air service between Dublin and Cork- it was run by Aer Arran as a EU POS. Then Ryanair came in, edged them out and eventually decided not to service the route anymore. I think the same thing happened with Dublin to Kerry too.
...am I the only guy that was hoping they'd swarm him and eat his face?
What? Only me?
I think Ryanair use them too...
Re: re. Sebastiaan ter Burg
That was exactly my first thought too
Re: Do not want, and in fact this kind of thing is a fucking 'orrible idea.
Totally agree. I'd say this generation of cars are probably smarter than some of their drivers.
Warning: Office 365 does not work on Leap Years.
I would probably give the report a little more creedence if it wasn't coming from Tel Aviv...
Re: God I'm getting sick of Fry
Well, things can only get better...
Shouldn' t that be "c**t" not "c**k"
Wouldn't happen in England...
I wasn't allowed access to GCHQ because of my Irish ancestry- despite the fact that my father used to work there many years ago...
really, how different is it from me making my own bows and fletching my own arrows?
Agreed totally. In fact the "hobbyist" nature of building your own 3d printer reminds me of the same thing happening with people building their own plotters in the 80s.
Re: State-run CCTV
"In Communist China, TV watches you."
Dabbsie AND BOFH on the same day!!! A great start to the Paddy's weekend.
I wouldn't be surprised if the porn industry haven't been pouring large amounts of dosh into the R&D...
Re: What is so compelling?
"As far as I can see this is just another Android Phone."
In the same way that the iPhone 5 is just another iOS phone.
I gathered up as many groupon addresses as I could (especially personal ones) and then just bounced any email coming from a groupon address to that list.
"Associated Press, British Pathé, Getty Images, ITN, the Press Association and Thomson Reuters."
Where's the BBC??? Or the other side of the fence I guess...
Re: Wot no Matrix?
Well, apart from the excellent Animatrix...
Re: Have to agree with most of these, though Zardoz does look very daft.
I loved Moon, it had the faint touch of Solyaris about it...
Re: I want....
I want one that I can stick on the back of my hand...
Welcome to Stob...
You're new here aren't you?
Motorola screwed Psion, Google screws Motorola...
Re: What about gay porn? Women aren't being used there.. What about..
Governments worldwide banned common sense years ago. They found it got in the way of policy making, which, in turn, would have a detrimental effect on creating new and amusing taxes.
Somebody actually took the trouble to upvote this commment...
Paid well I hope. It was one of the most hilarious articles I've read all week.
Re: Anything that means cheaper venison
I'll quite happily take part in the cull and then gut/clean my kill; that should be enough to shut any vegetarian up...
Re: Ah - the passage of time
I always thought it was a great pity that The Empire Strikes Back wasn't more available and that The Return of the Jedi was in raster not vector.
Re: I spent ages playing Tempest...
Another vote for Tempest here. A fantastic game.
For abstract- how about I-Robot, also by Atari.
Re: Windows 8 - It should go away.
Maybe it will go away if we ignore it some more...
Re: I seem to recall...
"On the other hand, though, why *SHOULD* bicyclists be exempt from paying for road maintenance."
I do pay for road maintenance- out of my taxes. You don't think the vehicle tax covers all the costs do you?
by your logic (nearly) every living thing on the planet pollutes by producing CO2*. The only way to stop it is to remove oxygen from the atmosphere. This sounds like a start of idiot politicians wanting to introduce an "Air Tax"
*maybe we can give plants a tax break for reversing the process...
Re: more Tesco digital stuff
I wouldn't even buy my groceries from Tesco's so there's no way I'm touching them for digital products.
Missing the obvious:
"Where they would have been released straight to DVD, the opportunities for doing that have really declined."
No, the rapid access to market these days is to make it available on a OnDemand service, like LoveFilm or Netflix. The fact that he's doing this via Xbox Live would indicate that he already understands this but he has limited his audience to just Xbox owners.
I pony well my droogie.
Today's Groupon Offer...
CEO, 50% off.
...driver [sic] them very crazy indeed.
a half decent alternative to RFID tags in the right circumstances. Especially as they can be used without having to add any extra hardware to the smartphone
Liewise. And zero after-sales support once they have you signed on too. It's a case of "we have your money now, screw you!"
Re: You're all missing the point
Did anyone check the island for dormant, hollowed out volcanos?
>I reckon it is belligerents and love the fact they have the balls to say 'f**k you Apple come after us if you dare.
"Then they are stupid and they will die."
Conspiracy time: It's collusion between Apple and Samsung's legal departments, designed to keep them in lucrative business.
Well, they are Sony and Ericsson is just a spec in the rear-view mirror now. If it was still SE it might have been a little different.
