Pirates scoff at games dev sim's in-game piracy lesson

Re: "an experiment in education of pirates"

Minecraft is proof that game-play is the prime factor in order for a game to succeed. Hi-res graphics; surround-sound; etc are all secondary to game-play. Home computer games in the 80s proved this.

go to the website and check out the section entitled "Why £1". It's not supposed to equal £1 in Africa, it's supposed to equal the same value foodwise

They do- they are called mercadillos- great for fresh fruit and veg.

Re: Dozen eggs for a euro?

I have two chickens, and I worked out that after feed, bedding and sundries, I am paying just over 30c for a dozen eggs.

Good luck Lester...

In a slightly similar vein, I'm actually calculating exactly how much I spend on food a week. It looks like I'm going to blow through €6 before the end of the day (and that's after cutting down on extravagances like shop-bought sandwiches)

Re: Excuse me

No need- the way I can see to safeguard yourself against this is to create a gallery of all your online images and make sure they are tagged (by EXIF and captions) and accessible to image matching sites like TinEye. Then if someone uses your imagery without your permission claiming it was an 'orphan work', you can prove that they did not perform a "diligent search".

Re: Call me sceptical if you will, but...

Unfortunately, in America, they really do believe that saying "sorry" is all that is required. How often have you heard the phrase "I've said I'm sorry; what more do you want?"

In order for an apology to be truly meaningful, there needs to be an understanding of the distress caused; a genuine feeling of regret for causing this distress; and a desire to never cause the same distress again in the future. Most apologies fail at least 2 out of 3 of these points (I'm looking at you public transport).

There used to be a decent air service between Dublin and Cork- it was run by Aer Arran as a EU POS. Then Ryanair came in, edged them out and eventually decided not to service the route anymore. I think the same thing happened with Dublin to Kerry too.
