No its not for the lawyers. I recall hearing years ago that the reason for so many appeals when it comes to the death penalty is to allow those condemned that sliver of hope that in the case they truly are innocent to be freed.
Could be wrong but that came to mind as soon as I saw your question
On a side note I'm all for death penalties so long as they is irrefutable proof of guilt.

How can you hate a BIOS which will allow you to surf youtube and farcebook without booting windows? Well mainly farcebook. Or how about how pretty they look and the ability to change the boot picture to whatever you want? Actually changed it on a friends laptop to a rather interesting picture of two guys.....the giggles the whole group of us gave him everytime he booted it up made me cry with laughter. Finally gave him a hint on how to fix it. Ahh i miss hanging out with those guys but sadly with two slipped disks in my back now I cant work, stand, sit, lay down or sleep very well anymore. God I hate having this issue at 31....

From what I have been reading on this it sounds more like they have the replace the board because the CMOS gets boinked. Yes I know its UEFI but it does seem that theres either a flaw in the coding for this or something Samsung introduced. My guess its a mix of both due to Samsung is always finding new things to do all the time to stay bleeding edge. I may have missed it but I cant wait to see what the ultimate fallout from this is.

Same functionality as Droid and Apple?
From my experience with the Youtube app on both Android and iOS they are both crap. Load slow as hell, don't show the same videos (don't get it since some videos are marked as not available if I try to view them on my phone while the same video is available on the browser or my PC), tends to decide to play a video in what appears to be 240 resolution for no reason when I have a great WiFi connection and so on. From the sounds of it Google is just making app comparable in quality to the current ones available to the competitors.

This kind of thing is precisely why the Apple app store kinda works. Having something reviewed before it is released makes a certain kind of sense. While Apple may miss things once in a while for the most part it seems to work.
More than likely this will be happening more and more as the community can pick games to "greenlight" which the majority of them are probably early betas atleast if not an alpha. While I applaude valve for doing this its ripe to have this happen again.

Im of the mindset on users that we need 2-step auth. Something along the lines of a password and a DNA sample would suffice. And no not that kind of DNA sample *quit snickering in the back*, something like a pint of their blood or something each time they log on would be good. And it has the added bonus of eliminating possible holes in the network after approximately 5-6 logins.
What can I say I hate the end user.

Don't understand why
If the government wants to have the apps screened more thoroughly then why don't they foot the bill or the apps in their own market. While I understand the logistics of this are daunting at the least (storage and bandwidth to start) and even though this would actually be good to get the apps which are ridiculous would be a good one.

Hell worst I ever had still bugs me to this day
Was working as a remote tech agent for a company here in the states which bugged the hell out of me.
It started with me coming in to cover for someone who was off and this day lasted all of 4 hours also it was my first and only call of that day.
Lady was calling to see if she could get evidence of any sort of infidelity on her husbands part because she wanted to get a divorce. !0 minutes later I'm connected to her computer and I decide to open up file explorer on Windows and the first (and only folder I opened) was the upload folder for Limewire
Still don't know what made me check that first.
Anyway, I opened up some pictures (and I know I'm looking at voyeur pictures of a female after a couple of them). Flip to the next one and then the next one and next thing I hear is her sudden intake on breath and says, and I quote, "That's my 13 year old daughter!!!"
"HOLD PLEASE....."
To cut this short this call ended 4 hours later roughly, her freaking out on the phone, me in the conference room with the owner of the company, my boss, the corporate attorney and the Ohio state troopers giving a disposition. Needless to say I said fuck the rest of the day and told my boss I was going home and didn't care how busy it was. Opened a very large bottle of Skyy 75 vodka I had had for 5 years and go blasted.
Moral of this story for me was I don't want to work with consumers ever again and that it really really sucks. Sighs...I hate people like that.

While Cisco may make good network gear I cant help but think that they are not the only company who is looking at the license keys as a new way to keep the hardware under their control. It will increasingly be a world where you may pay a wadge of cash for the kit only to find out you don't have the choice to use it how you want.
In no way am I advocating that you should be able to get support for said hardware if you don't have the license for it but I don't see how they should be allowed to poll your gear, the same gear you paid for, to see if your all paid up. Seeing as they make the software available on their own website they are partly to blame for it. Now if they are tracking stolen equipment then I see that as a valid use of this feature. I hate corporations that try to do this, hence why I hate crApple so much.

Well as for the return rate I expect it will end up being around the same as the increase in sales. Though truth be told I know a couple people with a Windows Phone 7 and its actually not a bad looking phone and OS from what little I have seen of it. Still wouldn't buy it though.

While I tend to agree with you on the WinMo issues from HTC when I had the TyTN which pissed me off to no end and even more so when the antenna detached itself internally (granted that was kinda my fault when the cord for it got caught on my chair) the TyTN 2 aka the Tilt was and awesome phone. It felt solid as a brick and was much more responsive than the old one. Every phone will have its strengths and weaknesses its more of a matter of how it affects people.
Hell I've even seen a jesusPhone act up like this as the SO had the 3G and it was horrible when it came to how it acted. When it worked right it was decent but it just felt slow. Seemed like it took forever compared to my phone at the time even compared to the TyTN 2. Just my opinion here.
you get what you pay for unfortunately when it comes to smartphones. If you go cheap don't expect it to be the be all end all of performance. If you want performance than you should look into the phones with the hardware to do what you want. This should be a no brainer. Its the same as if you want a gaming computer but then go out and buy an eMachine from Wally World expecting it to run any game out there with the highest settings. Not gonna happen.

After reading the story you mention in your post I actually called Ubisoft and kept asking to be escalated as high as I could go (assuming they didnt bullshit me on this one) and ended up at some high up managers phone taking to him and expressed the fact that I (and many other gamers) dont appreciate being referred to as pirates or even that being insinuated, also mentioned the fact that this alone may make me say fuck Ubisoft and instead of actually buying their DRMed to shit games I may start pirating them instead because of comments like these. His response was a weak "Were sorry you feel that way but we do still value those who buy our games".
Fuck Ubisoft at this rate they are just going to make me start pirating their games if they have any I actually want to play. AC2 pissed me off especially when their servers would go down for no fucking reason while I was in game and I was faced with the choice of leaving the game frozen on the screen while waiting for them to come back up or close it and lose progress. Twats.
