You dirty RAT! Hong Kong protesters infected by iOS, Android spyware

William Donelson

ONLY to iOS if you stupidly Jail Break your phone.

Apple has a walled garden that includes 100% of the 10,000 things I want to do with my phone, MUCH safer than Android.

And for those who DO jailbreak, what's to say the Chinese government hackers don't know that and entice and disguise the trojans etc? The articles I have read say their malware is disguised well, as coordinating apps for the protests.

I am sure they are very very clever in attacking Jail-broken iPhones and swiss-cheese Android.

Want to see the back of fossil fuels? Calm down, hippies. CAPITALISM has an answer

William Donelson

Oil subsidies...

Then remove all the HUGE oil subsidies.

It is obscene to cut food lunches and food stamps for kids to subsidise hugely profitable oil companies. This is sick.

Grain rots in silos in the midwest because railway cars are full of oil now FOR EXPORT.

And do Oil companies pay for all that military in the Gulf? No. Your taxes subsidise the oil routes and drilling there as well.

The real cost of gasoline in the USA is as much as $15 per gallon.

"Such external costs (subsidies, military, tax breaks, etc) push the true price of gasoline as high as $15.14 a gallon, according to a new report released by the International Centre for Technology Assessment."

Fastest growing Jobs...

Of the 10 occupation categories projecting the greatest growth in the next eight years, only ONE pays a middle-class wage. FOUR pay barely above poverty level and FIVE of the TEN PAY BENEATH POVERTY LEVEL.

THIS IS WHAT THE SUPER-RICH DID with the tax breaks Cheney-Bush gave them: Invested them overseas, and shifted your jobs and infrastructure to China, etc.

Hollywood's made an INTELLIGENT science vs religion film?!

William Donelson

Yet another confusion of science, religion and spirituality.

Pure science is the highest form of spirituality, seeing and perceiving the truth.

I subscribe to the anthropic principle: there are an infinite number of infinite universes, each with slightly different physical laws. Only some of them have the right parameters, such as gravity the right strength to allow stars to be born and live long. Ours is one that allows intelligent life to form, so that the universe may wonder at itself. We *are* the universe, in wonder of itself.

FBI boss: Apple's iPhone, iPad encryption puts people 'ABOVE THE LAW'

William Donelson

Court orders, and enforcement.

With a court order, of the law correctly enforced, there are two situations:

1. Compelling the suspect to reveal his information, with attendant 5th Amendment considerations.

2. Compelling a 3rd party to release your information. This is what Apple and Google want to avoid. It's Expensive, it's bad publicity, it's liable to further complications.

MOST iPhone strokers SPURN iOS 8: iOS 7 'un-updatening' in 5...4...

William Donelson

Keep in mind that

1. Many of us have older iThings which don't run iOS 8 very well.

2. The first 12-24 hours, the iOS 8 will do a lot of housekeeping and updating, thus draining battery and causing sluggish operation. Put it on the charger, leave it on overnight, see if that helps.

3. Many are waiting for iOS 8.01 update to fix the inevitable release bugs.

iPhone 6: The final straw for Android makers eaten alive by the data parasite?

William Donelson

"Samsung makes money from Android - the only manufacturer to consistently do so - but at a huge cost. Samsung buys its success with $14bn a year marketing budget, allowing it to put out saturation advertising, pay sales staff to push its products at retail, and hype indifferent offerings in emerging markets. "

So true. Market share does not matter if you are losing money.

VOTE! Polls don't matter.

* Only VOTES matter.

* The BEST way to Multiply your voting power:

** Set up a Carpool Society with many cars to take voters to the polls.

* Only YOU can save democracy.

Remember the Conservatice Dream:

A sweatshop country where compliant workers live in ignorance, fear, illness and poverty, while the 2% bleed us, laugh and invest overseas.

So, Apple won't sell cheap kit? Prepare the iOS garden wall WRECKING BALL

William Donelson

Great article, for 1-2 years ago!

"As a result, Apple’s stock price has disappointed recently, at least by its usual high standards, and a new mood of caution has set in."

Apple valuation is close to it's highest ever. This whole article reeks.

You can to better than this. Talk about WHY Apple continues to dominate cellphone profitability, and WHY that might fail in the future.

WiGag war: Tiny low-power chip promises mobes 4.6Gbps Wi-Fi

Since USB3 interferes so badly with WiFi and 2.4 GHz wireless devices, I am hoping this new standard will actually be reliable at 60 GHz without being polluted by other devices, or interfering with them in turn.

Are there other devices which operate commonly in the 60 GHz range? Or have significant harmonics there? Medical devices?
