Works fine for me too.
I've been using Tiscali ever since I moved to a broadband enabled area and never had any problems with them. Granted, I have no experience of other ISP's to compare them to, but I have no complaints with them either.
Can't say I really support them with this
All the BitTorrent users I know really take the piss out of the amount of data they download (mostly US TV shows and pirated films). I have to admit that I actually support ISPs that throttle these guys. Maybe not a popular opinion here but I do think its only fair if other peoples' internet experience is suffering because of it.
Yeah, but they let it slide when they found out you had been pwned by 40.
@Kirk, John, Fred, Dave
Whilst I wholeheartedly agree that the war in Iraq is illegal and someone should be nailed to the wall for it, I find it unbelievable that you all seem to be taking it out on this poor bastard (especially you Kirk).
You seem to forget that servicemen don't get to pick and choose which wars they fight in, if the Administration says to go to war then that's what they have to do. Anything else and you may as well be living in a Banana Republic for all the faith in your military you'd be able to have.
So the question is, who failed who over all this? Certainly not the military, they were just doing what they're ordered to do. As for the civilian population, just how innocent can you claim to be? A few half assed protests against it and then you all went home and satisfied yourselves with simply whining about the illegality of it all. Where were the strikes? Or even riots? You could have done any number of things to get the Administration to reconsider, but you didn't. I guess it's just easier to take it out on the guys in uniform isn't it?
And John, the article does also mention that his friends had told him she was cheating so he did have other evidence to go on.
£50 says this guys takes drugs
I mean, did you see the bellies on some of those Hobbits? Seems like it's one rule for little fu**ers with furry feet and another rule for everyone else.
I'll get my Worg...
Well I, for one...
...welcome our new sexy Belgian cockroach overlords.
I think you're right about your criticism of Flowers for Algernon as an example but there is another science fiction story that may be more relevant to this:
Gattaca, IMO, does a pretty convincing job of explaining how "artificial enhancement" is likely to pan out if it ever becomes a reality in a capitalist society.
(For those who haven't seen it, it deals with how using eugenics to enhance the abilities of humans leads to the creation of an elite class for parents who can afford the treatment for their unborn children, and an underclass who can't. Let's just say it's a pretty depressing future for those who aren't super rich.)
Still, good news for you know who.

IT angle or no IT angle?
I guess you're just damned if you do and damned if you don't El Reg.
BTW, where's the Pa... oh, never mind, the taxi's here.
I believe the time limit is 28 days in the UK. It's certainly not as long as 6 months. I remember covering this in Modern studies all those years ago.
My money is on...
...it being Zeus getting lairy and throwing around some thunderbolts. Possibly because they all became Catholics in the first place.
I'm off to sacrifice a bull and bathe in its' blood, just in case our true Lord, the God of Thunder, decides to target my computer next.
Catholicism? This is SPARTAAAA...
Is it just me...
...or is reading amanfromMars' posts just like listening to a Radiohead song? Could it be he's really Thom Yorke? I think we should be told.
Just out of interest, how much do you reckon these things are going to cost the military each?
Compared to the price of... ooh, lets say, the RPG that blows it to pieces.
Did Jo Frost get elected? No one told me
I'm not sure I understand the BBFC decision here, especially as they've had no problem passing the recent slew of "Torture Porn" films. I can only guess that they think it's easier for kids to get hold of 18 rated games than it is to see 18 rated films. They may have a point but the practice of sanitising the media in case it falls into the hands of kids is still quite disturbing. It seems to me that the wrong people are getting penalised here.
Having said that, I can't really say I have all that much sympathy with the developers. I've long suspected that Rockstar deliberately court controversy with their titles, both as a marketing tool and to disguise the fact that their games really suck.
Guess there's no need to ask about...
...the Paris Hilton angle on this one.
The taxi's on it's way.
Any New Yorkers want to fill us in...
...on what this guys platform was? I'm guessing that if he couldn't get 15000 signatures in a city as big as NY then it must have been pretty far out.
I'd check myself but I'm too lazy.
