Oracle does give away software. Unbreakable Linux for one.

They have to give the software away as it is GPL'd. They (like RedHat) charge for support.

Otherwise, IMHO, Oracle Software is very expensive even for a SME.

Oracle has a decision to make when it absorbs SUN.

Do the continue with Unbreakable Linux and quietly ditch OpenSolaris

OR

Do they put all their O/S eggs in one bag and go olny with Solaris.

Personally, I hope it is the latter. Unbreakable Linux AFAIK has hardly been a raging success.
