No Jedit, they pulled it because there's legal proceedings against the app from another company who claims to hold patents that it infringes. It's been in court for a few months. Apple could be found jointly liable if they didn't act.
VLC was similar but for copyright issues, one of the developers threatened to sue as he found the license he had contributed code under didn't agree with the app store distribution model. While it never got to court one could say it was being illegally distributed (not sold btw, it was always a free app)
