Back in the old days, we had email distro lists. In fact, they're still around. How did it happen? Someone wrote a little mail bouncer program one day, and that was that. No startups. No dubious business models. No multi-million dollar acquisitions. It just was not (and still is not) a big deal.
I'm still in shock and awe, at how seemingly trivial things end up attracting so much venture capital these days.
