        An unmanned firm?

        "The data was held by an unmanned email database management firm "

        Does that mean they sacked them before the event, or after?

    Forget Facebook

    This is the sort of place where punters are happy to leave personal info.

    There must be thousands of similar databases out there ripe for picking -- that is, if they haven't been already . . .

    Prime bait!

    I imagine the sorts of people who signed up for a newsletter from McDonalds are probably quite likely to be the type of people who are all too willing to open unsolicited emails - so quite a good haul for the hackers!

    Plan

    1 - find this data

    2 - mine for anyone saying their favourite food is a bigmac and they like to have one at least 3 times a week

    3 - send adverts for cut price diabetes medication to their inbox

    4 - profit

      @Lottie

      Um no profit. These folks are the same type to not either have health insurance or refuse to listen to the doc when they tell them not to eat that crap.

    "an unmanned email database management firm"

    I know the machines are taking over, but I didn't realise they were already running companies!

    "the breach showed that third-party suppliers can be the weak leak in information security."

    Tell me again why I should be interested in investing in making use of so-called "cloud providers"?
