back to article Prosecutor won't resign over lewd texts to 'hot' crime victim

A county prosecutor in Wisconsin has rebuffed calls to resign following revelations he sent a crime victim 30 racy text messages that among other things referred to her as a “tall, young, hot nymph.” The criticism was leveled at Calumet County District Attorney Ken Kratz, who pledged on Friday to seek individual psychotherapy …

"You may be the tall, young, hot nymph, but I am the prize”

He never finished his sentence ... what sort of prize? Prize twit?

District Attorneys are usually elected into office - which is why they seem like members of political office. Let me be your DA because I lock rape artists up for life and fry murderers.

Wonder if he is married: there might be a couple of expensive cases on his horizon - one for divorce and the other for abuse.

"Wonder if he is married: there might be a couple of expensive cases on his horizon - one for divorce and the other for abuse."

I wonder if you actually read the whole article... point in case, the very next sentence following the quote that you used as the title of your comment read:

"In other messages, he asked if she was “the kind of girl that likes secret contact with an older married elected DA,”"

The hint being the third to last word in that sentence...

Saying so don't make it so

He also described himself as a prize. He may well be neither. I see no quotes from a spouse in the article nor any other indication as to whether they actually exist.

Furthermore, perhaps in JaitcH's sentence the stress was on the word "is".

      According to him he is.

One of the text messages quoted has him implying he is married.

While I woudn't quite string him up. He is obviously on a sociopathic ego trip and not someone I would want anywhere near a position of power.

    Mentally ill

The guy is obviously mentally ill and needs help.

This is NOT a person to have responsibility for anything, especially in our legal system.

On the job is not the place for his rehabilitation.

      >>The guy is obviously mentally ill and needs help.

He is just a scum, but non-violent. He should be fired, is all. There are people who are mentally ill who really need help, but psychiatric care and units are underfunded in most countries. This guy deserves no help from the system. And he obviously does not have much common sense available, so he should not continue in a job with this level of responsibility.

If he wants to pay out of his pocket to de-wanker himself, fine by me.

Just remember you advise somebody (verb) and give them advice (noun). That's easy to rememeber as, unlike license/licence, they are pronounced differently. The others generally follow that pattern - at least in the UK (it's not universally applicable in the US).

"I have the $350,000 house..." That's about £225,000. Clearly a high roller, living in a penthouse like that!

Not quite in the same league as Bill Gates' house (valued at $147.5 million), is it?

    1. Steve Roper

      That's pretty average

for houses in Australia. Where I live in Adelaide, $350k is the median price for an average suburban home on a quarter acre block. Many are $400k upward. Thanks to foreign investors and land bankers driving house prices through the roof, Australia is now one of the most expensive places to buy a home anywhere in the world.

He is on his way out

Sad that this is what the world hears about Wisconsin.

Wisconsin's governor (and former state attorney general) has vowed that the Calumet County AG will be removed from office. Last night the press issued a call for complaints from constituents so the state AG's office could start the formal process of removal.

A $350,000 house in Calumet County is likely a well-kept 4-bedroom either on a few acres of land or on a lake - not sure how that compares to Britain (or NY).

We are not all perverts here despite the AG, Jeffrey Dahmer and Ed Gein. Really.

    Prosecutor won't resign...

According to another article I read about him, the guy was appointed by a Republican governor, which means he's most likely a Republican... You know, those politicians who seem to think the rules apply to everyone else, but not to them. Now that this story has crawled out the shadows, I wonder how many more women are going to claim that he harrassed them while "performing his official duties" as District Attorney. String him up by the 'nads, then throw him in the cell block with some of the people lhe convicted.

Flames because he'll feel the heat now.

  21. Rogerborg

A DA who can't afford to spend more than 350 k$ on a house? Give that man a raise, he's living in a slum! Also, his wife would like him to have more money for when they divorce.

  23. John Savard

    Therapy?

This isn't like simple possession of drugs for personal use, this is conduct threatening to a real victim. His assets should be frozen, as once he is found guilty, they should be divided between his victims; his wife would presumably just have to divorce him and find another husband to support her - while he goes to jail for many long years. Or is locked away in a mental institution, but it's doubtful that someone capable of functioning as a DA can claim to be so insane as not to know right from wrong.

    Likely no iPhone

I agree - he should be removed, but there probably isn't and iPhone. AT& T has terrible coverage in Wisconsin. iPhones only work in the major metropolitan areas and Calumet County really isn't so much.
