So if they hadn't decided to drop the charges persumably they would have dragged his rotting corpse into court to face trail?
People who oppose both law and enforecement and prostitution, that got to be a might small demographic. Possibly a few hermits or some very extreme loons from either the left or right, but I wouldn't have thought that there were enough of them to have this kind of political clout.
I don't know if it is a collective stupidity or just plain ignorance. This is a victimless crime. Prostitutes were free to operate their own services without the intervention of pimps. Perhaps U.S. lawmakers are so tied into organized crime that this would have been bad for campaign contributions. Either way, the descent into darkness continues apace.
