back to article State senator eyeballs smut during abortion debate

Florida State Senator Mike Bennett was busted last Thursday eyeballing a bevvy of topless* beauties during an evidently dull debate on a "controversial abortion bill", Sunshine State News reports. Rather splendidly, as cameras catch Bennett in flagrante delicto, fellow Senator Dan Gelber can be heard to protest: "I'm against …

    Been there

I was sent a porn-laden email (as a joke) during a small presentation - luckily this was in Sweden so no-one gave a damn.

    The honorable representative...

...clearly understands the actual importance of the "controversial" bill ("controversial" being duckspeak for "of interest to cranks, pro-lifer scum, x-tian radicals, controlfreaks and partisan theater players").

"I opened it up and said holy [expletive]! What's on my screen? and clicked away from it right away."

How many wives have heard that one I wonder?

    Official Business...

It looked like official business from what i could see... receiving the email from a former court administrator? one can only wonder what kind of judicial porn swap mailing list is floating around the Florida court system, its a shame that filing a freedom of information act request to "inspect" the quality of communications taking place on the courts network will likely go unanswered...

Sent to him by Jaqui Smith's husband to remind him what activities may have led up to the need for an abortion ...

      I don't think so

The thing with porn watching is that it often doesn't lead up to the need for an abortion. Especially porn watching on Senate ground (hopefully), even less so when you're married to Jacki (god forbid).

    The other side of this

Is that our legislators are just as human as the rest of us - hands up those who haven't opened joke emails at work when they're bored?!

    Bikinis

I think they all have bikinis on, but the Sunshine State News decided to protect our innocence, lest we all become horny politicians, or something.

Would it be too much to ask?

Would the senator please forward the email so we can determine, once and for all, if the lovely ladies are in fact wearing bikinis?

    oh wait.....

    bikinis... in florida? Shock surprise.

It's Florida, bikinis are practically business casual anyway. Of course, if you can see actual nipples suddenly it's horribly offensive, right?

    Funny

Funny to see how in certain parts of the world a pic of a babe in a bikini is «porn» and a «pornographic image» (cited from Sunshine State News).

I mean it kinda is, in a -prudish- way, but then a good half of the billboards and TV ads are, too. By that definition the guy would have ogled more pornography by just looking out the window.

    Joke

    About that email...

«but after talking to the Senate's top lawyer, he declined to let us see those records".»

As per recently unveiled official US policies, all his senate-related emails should be at Mike.Bennett@yahoo.com; I believe most of his password-retrieval answers are a matter of public record. Good hunt.

Disclaimer: see icon; also, you could very well just find emails about the wife and kids of the Chargers' running back instead of juicy boobalicious Senate-related pr0n. Use at your own risks.

maybe it's just my old eyes...

but those lovely girls looked mighty young. But I'm sure no Florida legislator would ever be found looking at jailbait pics while on the floor...

    WTF?

Keep up the good work pal.

He got bored during the debate and decided to check e-mail? And he's paid to do what exactly?

At least he uses what seems to be Firefox if I'm not mistaken.

And I noticed that the dog video was loaded on what seems to be YouTube. Shouldn't it be blocked from access on their proxy (with content filtering against pr0n and malware inflicted websites etc) or he was using his own 3G connection?

Coat, with USB flash drive in pocket containing my VPN certificates, which coincidentally listens on 53 UDP. And putty. Sometimes it's easier to just SSH.

He's presumably paid to represent his electorate's interests. Most political debates are predictably sterile and accomplish nothing, so checking for emails from his constituents is probably a better use of time than listening. Remaining in the debating chamber is also smart, on the very off chance that someone starts to say something interesting.

Won't comment on the porn, coz my browser doesn't support Flesh so I haven't seen it.

    Smut?

Looks like a harmless holiday snap to me.

Where I live there is a beach for topless sunbathers and they aren't arrested for being p0rnographic.
