elitest bastards
I need this, surgery pah! Likely story they are just keeping their good bandwidth to themselves and won't share pigs. Fine, I hope they all suffer from carpal tunnel mousing.
New improvements to the high speed Internet2 network infrastructure are completed and primed with 100Gbps capacity for US research and education communities. The updated network's wrap-party was at Internet2's annual Fall Member Meeting today in San Diego. The company showed off its new Dynamic Circuit Network (DCN), which, …
The original internet was (also) designed for research use. It has grown a bit since then.
Admittedly, it did take a while before people other than researchers could get onto the net...
20 odd years, if I recall correctly...
So, 100Gbps internet in... 2027 then. Can't wait.
(I like these icons... Very nice.)
How else are we gonna seed those hi-def movies? ;p
A faster internet should also provide Andrew with plenty more fodder to carry on his trolling, hypocritical rhetoric, simultaneously appearing pro GonnaRIAA yet calling them conniving retarded bloggers, whilst closing his articles to comment. Down-playing one of the most interesting sociopolitical debates of our time and discouraging people from debating it, does nothing for his credibility, or that of this fine publication.
I request that his posts be flagged on the homepage so I can ignore them, as there is nothing to be gained from reading his opinions without the possibility of any discourse. Actually, there is nothing to be gained from reading his articles ;p
Sorry for the off-topic rant, I've been censored from expressing my opinion where it counts.
Could we also have a nice 'Flame' icon? :D And an 'Off-Topic Rant' one?
Woo hoo, I'll be fuking retired by then and out of this shit hole IT industry! You can't see this but I'm doing a happy dance as that means people who are forced to support this crap in 2027 will be required to fix a thousand times the network problems that I've been dealing with for the past few years.
Screw math, screw the internet and screw you hippies, I'll be retired & be going home, before that day comes! Better yet, Microslease and Oracle can kiss my lilly white ass!
Its a law like Moore's law or E-mc2.Rubbish (R) multiplies at a velocity relative to the capacity of the medium to accomodate it.Something like V=R*C I think...
It once took me a year to fill 100mb. It now takes me a month to fill 500Gb. So...with 100Gb or even a nice slice of, buying 4 1TB drives is just puny.
I just wish one really sizeable UK network would get out of the selling the least for the most game...I'm sure we'd all have 10mb up and down then at least.
