    Am I mistaken?

    Didn't Google just pop Buzz in to place with the default features already turned on to the least amount of privacy and the most amount of exposure?

    Assuming what Google wrote above to be true, then our new US Govt CTO clearly wanted the full attention of the press to notice that he was still in contact with lobbyists and he best buds at google.

    Eric Schmidt is right. If you've got something to hide, then you should probably not be doing it in the first place. A senior staff member of the President of the US maintaining communication with former employees and lobbyists via a non-standard channel? Yeah, right. Its funny the Republican's are not calling for his head. Maybe Google's got their hands in both parties' pockets?

      Actually,

      Republicans are calling for his head. But since they have no say in either house on Congress, and the LSM are either lap-dogs or cheerleaders for the Fascist in Chief, you haven't heard about it.

      As for Google Buzz, not worried about it anymore. Once I found the uninstall button it was gone.

    Found the solution

    At the bottom of my GMail login page, there's a link labelled "Turn off Google Buzz". Clicking it opens a popup which explains that this is NOT reversible and are you sure. One more click and it's gone for good!

    ...is a dead horse. Not buzzin' at all. Dead. The changes to the privacy policy won't change that.

    Won't they therewith fall afoul of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009, which, according to another article in today's Reg (http://preview.tinyurl.com/ylzbh8b ) specifically criminalises possession of «a prohibited image of a child» ? After all, Buzz is very young....

    ...a social network from scratch"? Yeah, obviously nobody wants to build a network of their actual friends. They want a ton of people they've barely met to be on their buddy list, like all the people on Facebook etc. with a zillion supposed "friends" of whom they know about six. What a joke.
