Don't bother applying for a visa 'cos there really aren't enough IT jobs here. Cockheads such as Qaintarse, Telstra, the big banks have ensured that the local industry is fucked by sending IT jobs to Mujibah land.
However, if you can drive a 250 tonne haulpack or a front end loader, or do welding or pipework then there's shit loads of jobs in the North West of Western Australia on the mine sites or on the mega oil & gas projects.

What do they mean "skill shortage"?! As a Linux specialist here in Oz, I'm finding it extremely hard to find any sort of decent job here!
I've just come back from Scotland where they actually KNOW what IT is and *use* stuff like Linux!
And yes, someone who's NOT a luddite in the govt would make a nice change!
