Look for a Bright Star in the East ....... ? .....and for Wise Men bearing Gifts.

"Former chief exec insists there 'isn't any drama here'" ..... Quite so, it is just a Fundamental Wholesale Paradigm Shift in MetaData and Robotics Fields. Not a drama, just a Future Message Server BlockBuster Epic Saga unfolding and unfurling ITs Tales for Sailing and Sales.

And under the Myriad Flag of Independent Convenience, for a Jolly Rogering Crowd in the Clouds, Flying the Inconvenient Truth in the Face of Temporary Blights, Pretenders in Knights Templar Round Table Circles Pimping Temporal Anomalies in Dark Matter Issues rather than Pumping Heavy Meta Iron for the Lightness of IMPerfect Being.

A World in Chaos or Made to Order .....is not a Decision you Make whenever IT Takes it for you.

      robert,

Do not misunderestimate the readership of El Reg, some of whom who would work in fields which are harder to believe even with comprehension aided whenever Concepts and Live Running Programs are spelt out in simple words of a few syllables. And you must always be aware that one is only ever likely to know what is third party deemed prudent for one to know, if one is intellectually challenged when forging ahead.

The Best Pioneers Lead into New Fields without the Petty Thoughts of Reward and Permissions, and then always return to the Status Quo Establishment with ....... well, it is normally the Fruit of their Labours for Sale with an Instruction Manual or Cook Book to highlight the Feasts and Feats which await one in the Future. You don't actually believe that things just "happen" in the Future, do you, as opposed to being carefully planned?

    Well........

As your recently quoted statement of Mandy Rice-Davies, "Well, he would say that, wouldn't he"

    Maybe they'll leverage ZFS...

Maybe Data Robotics will leverage free ZFS - so their system can get the features that none of their market competitors are offering: compression, dedup, bundle the ethernet with the USB & firewire, support iSCSI natively, kernel based NFS & SMB file sharing, get correction of silent data corruption, flash read or write acceleration...

Free open source software in conjunction with management "change" could offer Data Robotics a lot of free features which would make them best in class.
