      Down to the math

Send a million spam-mails, and only 0.1% reply.

Thats still a 1000 orders for fake stiffy pills.

And you can be assured that the following is true:

      a) they're making more than a buck on each sale

      b) they're sending a few more than a million spams a day

      Nothing personal its a business

One that deserves to be stamped on hard

"the businesses said sale ... [were] ...protected by SSL encryption"

'Cause if you're handing over your credit cards to a dodgy website you certainly don't want any suspicious people to get a hold of it? Seems to me that's a bit like closing the barn doors after the cow has already been boiled down for glue.

    If only

If only the USA had an extradition agreement with Australia.

Or maybe they do, and Aussies politicians don't roll over for their friends across the Pacific - unlike their menials across the Atlantic?

    FAIL

Give us the tools for the fools

Epic fail because the penalties are, once again, much too lenient.

With regards to penalizing the suckers who send money, it's pretty hard to squeeze more blood out of a turnip like that. However, since we outnumber the idiots, I think we could cut 'em off at the balls... Er, I mean at the pass, the pass. If we had better spam fighting tools, it would only take a relatively small percentage of good Samaritans to keep the spammers away from the suckers.

    US jurisdiction

Apparently (according to Radio 4) this fine can only be levied if the perps set foot on US soil.

As Kiwis, they were only fined £60,000 in New Zealand.

So, for the dubious punishment of never being able to visit the US, and a handfull of small change (for them) they carry on pushing their mostly harmless, but 100% useless potions.

They must be crying all the way to the bank.

      Mossad kidnaps people...

don't see why the US can't either. It's not like they're awaiting trial like the Gitmo bunch.

Time to recommission the U.S.S. New Jersey.

    Alert

    How often...

...do these judgements against spammers *ever* get any money? You always hear about the judge making the ruling while the spammer is off in Barbados etc. beyond the reach of the law. I don't immediately recall ever reading a story where a spammer was caught and handed over the money.

    where's the money going?

Firstly, did the pills actually work? I mean, if they did turn a tidler that gets lost in the palm into a donkey todger then let the man trade.....I'll have a box too please.

But on a more serious note... The governments involved are a bit two faced "it's terrible this leach is making money out of inncoent fools, so we've caught him and fined him"

Where's the money from the fine going? It's going to the governments involved...!!! That makes them an accessory to fraud in my book, they're profiting from an illegal operation, and it's even premeditated. "Lets catch them, take all the money, and tell everyone we're doing them a favour.....by the way, how's your cock?"

    You missed an aliterative alternative:

"Prolific Penis Pill Pushers Penalized Practically $19M"

Personally, I say we should allow penis pill spammers to sell their goods - so long as the pills actually sterilize the takers. Inducing priapism until the subject can no longer support an erection is a bonus.

    better title

Prolific penis pill pushers penalized plenty a pretty penny; pundits predictably pooh-pooh payment probability, promote punishing plentifully-publicized-pharmacy-product-purchasing plebes.

Proud punster posts paragraph pseudonymously, plainly preferring p's.

One surefire way to loose weight without even a pill is to have $19 million taken out of your back pocket.
