Hypocrisy?
Before I say anything about this guy's thoughts, I must admit that they pretty much match my own thoughts for my country (the U.S.). I don't want people coming in and sponging off the government, effectively sponging off of me. If immigrants come here (legal or illegal), they better be able and willing to earn a living and be productive members of society.
But then there are times when I think to myself, "I understand that line of thinking, but isn't that kind of a double-standard?" After all, we don't make sure that our own citizens are productive members of society. We don't make sure that our own citizens are skilled laborers.
So I guess I'm part of the problem, because I understand that something has to be done, but I cannot provide any answer or solution that will be fair to all involved. But in my country, at least, it seems extremely hypocritical that we kill the original inhabitants of the land, take over the land, and then deny anyone else entry.
