back to article The Sun points bazookas at MoD killjoys

The Sun has finally weighed in with great righteousness on the matter of state censorship - albeit in characteristically colourful, boob-augmented fashion. The paper has proclaimed its indignation over how the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has been blocking internet traffic for our brave lads overseas through the time-honoured …

Plain nudity isn't 'Adult Content', it's just people without clothes on.

not the only reason I suspect

I recenty had to clean a guys machine which had been rooted by a shockwave exploit on one of the suns pages. He ended up with over 4000 infected files.

The sun of coarse refuted the claim even though we reproduced the same thin in a clean VM

So it's boobs and viruses as well as total drivel they publish

    Sun not got back yet...

Thats because they are still looking up the meaning of a few words...

"Damascene", "conversion", "personal", "liberty" wouldnt be surprised if they struggled with a few of the monosyllable ones as well.

    Lack of common sense here

"The viewing of adult content is inappropriate in the working environment”

But getting your limbs blown off by a roadside bomb or dying in some god-forsaken dustbowl is perfectly acceptable?

And this is not an invite to debate as there is no discussion required.

If any HR pen pusher or equal rights officer thinks their opinion on this matter, er, matters then try making it an informed one by signing up for a two year stint and experiencing what our boys and girls (who, incidentally, couldn't give a monkeys what their XY chromo colleagues bash one out over) have to go through when REALLY serving their country's best interests.

    Why of course they shouldn't...

...be allowed to view this stuff, otherwise the serviceman-on-serviceman action I dream of wouldn't occur so frequently.

Back to my thoughts - where was I. Oh yes:

As Lance Corporal Stevenson reached out for the gear lever of the Challenger tank the back of his hand brushed the leg of his comrade Lieutenant Williams. Williams looked at him with a wry smile: "Don't pretend you did that by accident, Andy - there's been something in the air ever since we were posted here".

    ...to be continued

    Hmmm...

Not just UK troops - I noticed this same trend in the MWR (Morale, Wellness & Rec centres) on various US bases in Iraq. An absolute ton of sites were forbidden - not just the boobie-types but firearms-related sites, a lot of discussion-forums, etc.
