    friendly Japanese advice to UK IT industry

    Its nice to see the Japanese providing advice to the UK IT industry through the worthy pages of the Home Office website. The Japanese technicaladvisoryboard (org.uk) NSFW certainly know how to get the attention of Techs everywhere, unlike the Home Office.

    There are 92 domains hosted off this IP and at least half of them are porn (if google is translating the japanese right) No idea when someone parked the TAB host on there but its a great jape.

    Paris as she has some hot content for the home office too

    * http://www.ofcom.org.uk/

    * http://www.publications.parliament.uk

    * http://www.parliament.uk/

    Yahoo Site Explorer and Google Cache are great for amusement at other peoples mistakes.

    Well, in the form of PDFs about the Technical Advisory Board anyway.

    Thanks to the wonder of PDFs they are available as clickable hotlinks for anyone who is bored of technical advice..

    Titles? We don't need no steenking title?

    I know there's always been nepotism in government and as long as the job is done I really don't have a problem with it, but you have to wonder if Wacqui Jacqui should have got her hubby in as a web editor after all the recent controversy?

    Looks like Jacqui Smith's husband is also the web developer for the Home Office website.

    Once again...

    ... our Government shows its inability to control even what it owns itself, yet still thinks that it can (and should!) control what we can see and download...!

    Just ask her

    And she will tell you that everything was within the rules and the link was necessary as evidence-gathering for the upcoming trial of the internets in the court of public opinion.

    A new tax?

    Maybe this is a hint of things to come. It's clear that a national internet blocklist and a £12 billion datacentre isn't going to do much of anything to stop terrorists, so why is the Home Office so keen on them? Are they planning to generate a new revenue stream by taxing access to pr0n?
