    Lovely

How long can it be before Google contracts a STD by kissing China's butt ?

Given their population issues, perhaps China should simply genetically engineer their populace so that they are free of 'naughty bits'. This should surely reduce the general interest in porn, and allow their 'citizens' to be produced the way the glorious leader intended - I believe Aldous Huxley called it 'decanting'.

That Bloodninja was hilarious! Thank you Rik and Reg!

Back on topic, just how does the Chinese government propose to check for smut in texts? There must be billions sent per day. Or do they let fear do the work for them?

    The real reason...

... you see, is that the Chinese are looking at England's ban on so-called "extreme porn" (and Scotland's proposed ban) and are thinking "hang on, *we* are supposed to be the draconian, authoritarian control freaks! How can we let some westerners get ahead of us in the game?!"

I didn't get it at first, but the linky reminded me. The Rhino cracks me up every fucking time.

I do like the idea that by prohibiting pr0n you improve the moral fibre of society. because obviously running tanks at students worked, didn't it?

Face it china, people have opinions on a multitude of things including sex, and banning talking dirty on the net and on the phone ain't gonna stop kids meeting up behind quiet bus stops and doing biologically interesting things to each other...

    Hang on....

Have people missed the point here?

I'm sure that there is a team of people browsing the internet looking for the porn links to then get them removed.

You can just imagine the job advert....

Desperate pervert in need of lots of web smut browsing needed to help government sanitize the web for it's youth

    Paris.... cause well because... really....

    Spam

Why don't they do something more useful - like block all the spam that is generated from computers in China?
