Is that...
Richard "Lord British" Garriott?
If so, look out for Ultima XII - Space Avatar hitting the shelves soon (actually, didn't he do a MMO First person shooter?)
Space tourist Richard Garriott is about to begin his 10-day stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS) following a successful docking this morning of the Soyuz TMA-13 spacecraft (see pic) which launched on Sunday from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The Soyuz TMA-13 approaches the International Space Station. Pic: …
If "The final three ISS jaunts are scheduled for 11 February 2010" then whats gonna happen to the poor sould left up there after the final mission, are they just goin to be left to rot?
Or is it more the case that the staion itself is going to be finished, and any further 'jaunts' are going to be simple for the deposit or collections of tourists and astronuts, instead of delivering equipment.
"The final three" refers to Shuttle flights currently in the pipeline. Soyuz will be ferrying personnel and the ESA space taxi will be shifting goods up and down the well to cover the gap between Shuttle and Ares (I think that's the name). All the heavy lifting will have been done, is the plan.
".......due to deliver extra equipment for the ISS's crew expansion."
That'll be the pizzas then. One important thing that's eluded mankind to date in our quest for space is an orbit-capable 2-stroke moped with "L" plates and a missing indicator*, so Dominos don't deliver up there.
* Well, either that or it's down to the ISS not having a Post Code.
