    I wonder...

    ...if these so-called "miscreants" realize that folks in Texas carry guns, and are *more than* willing to use them. Google "Joe Horn" if you need an example. These folks might just find themselves invaded by the TNG. (mine's the "Go Git 'em!" sign.

    ... that in today's world the military needs more redundancy in it's IT sector, that you can't be sending all the folks qualified to handle the website, off-site where they aren't effectively handling such problems.

    Thats fine but the national guard is often treated worse then a red head step child , by drunken step dad that likes to beat it. They get left over and broken gear.

    there is no way you will be able to get the $50, even if anyone did pay.

    It is going to be tracked, and there only so many brown paper bag drops you can get to in a day.

    So, who would benefit from this style of attack? Damned if I know.

    You over estimate the authorities and banking sectors, there will be no tracking or tracing of the payments, they don't care. Additionally you might have noticed that the the banking sector has a few other concerns at present ... like staying afloat thanks to their utter incompetence.
