They have a profit margin on domains?

As a reseller I cannot afford such luxury.

Waiting for my provider and all other UK based registrars to do the same now.

Sadly you will never hear about the providers like ourselves who are streamlining and not hiking prices and doing press releases like it's a good thing.

So a .com from Verisign costs $7.85 and the icann cost is $0.18 totalling $8.03 (others are less)

Before Brexit this equated to £5.39, today this equates to £6.08 an increase of 69p (13%)

This is the reason that a price increase of £2.50 (33%)?

Rather than state you are putting prices up, just blame Brexit eh? Or is it just profiteering?

Actually Brexit is the excuse for gouging money from too many people. With businesses that is just blatant profiteering on their part to screw the British customer, but then it has always been thus.

Actually .COM is the cheapest by a few $ compared to the other gTLDs included in the Vidahost price rise.

The rest are all ~$10 cost.

No they aren't .Net is $7.46

If you exclude the additional ICANN fee maybe... It's about $8.50 including the ICANN fees.

    Currency % drop?

Maybe my maths is wrong but

    Pre-Brexit £1=$1.50

    Post-Brexit £1=$1:30

    Surely that is a drop of $0.20 over $1.50 or 13% not the 20% listed since a drop of 20% would surely be $1.50 x 0.8 = $1.20?

20% sounds bigger of course but surely if rounding up then 15% would be more accurate?

Are Vidahost a significant player in this market?

Anyway FWIW 123-reg are charging £11.99 for .com and I'm sure when the exchange rate recovers Vidahost will drop their prices won't they...
