Considering that they changed the recipe when Heublein bought the chain and it's been modified several times, I'm not surprised that it doesn't smell like the Colonel's finest creation. The good Colonel used to bad-mouth the product no end.
Footnote: maybe it's me, but who wants to lay around pool smelling like fried chicken?
